Very graphic and scary!

I bought it again because it is an excellent tool to use when witnessing to others in an attempt to lead them to Christ Jesus our Savior.
Harriet Edmondson
This book gives a glimpse into life after the Rapture and those who are left behind.

I just want to start off by saying how this book is a must read for everyone. Whether you are saved or not, everyone MUST read this book. The contents of this book is basically the book of Revelation put in a story form. I've been saved for some time now, but it wasnt until I read this book, that I TRULY knew what it means to be saved and living the lifestyle. To everyone reading this who is not saved or who is saved and maybe has been out of fellowship with the Lord, I plead with you to get this book and get your lives right with God. ... Also for the people who are saved, please share this book with others that you know need it desperately...

If you're a fan of the "Left Behind" series or Bible prophecy in general, this novel has some familiar elements, though it was published in 1950. Billed as "based on Gospel truth," this story definitely reflects the 1950s in its simplistic, idealistic tone. The characters are rather Cleaver-like, but there is an underlying message of salvation.

The author supports the notion of the pre-tribulation rapture, as do the authors of "Left Behind," but the emphasis on the torture of newly converted believers in this work is particularly striking. The rapid spiritual change in some of the characters is not necessarily adequately explained, especially if this is meant as an evangelical piece. But in all honesty, I found most effective the very accurate-seeming and brutal depictions of the torture of believers at the hands of the antichrist and his minions. We all know from the Apostle Paul's life that this is not some fairy tale.

A friend of mine handed this book to me, I guess she knew I was not right with GOD in my heart. I really enjoyed reading this book and let me be the first to tell you if you are not sure where you stand with your spirit in GOD read this book it will widen your eyes and open your heart to GOD. I only pray that we all go with our LORD and SAVIOR when he does return for his Church. I will from now on walk in GOD'S ways and I will talk of his coming which only he knows of the day and hour. To all of you who reads this and who is not saved or who does not trust and believe in his return I shall pray for your soul. To all the rest of you that are saved I will see ya'll in heaven. GOD Bless each and everyone of you. LOVE IN CHRIST NAME TEE HUNTER

In reference to: J.H. Scranton's comment

First of all, Mr. J.H. Scranton should have paid attention in English class! Before you criticize another's work, prove that YOU can do better! Hard to do when you consider just how many copies were sold, of THIS particular book he wrote. And as for perfection . . the only one that was PERFECT (that I have known) died on the cross . . . AND . . Mr. Scranton - you dare to criticize and then YOU wrote the following

" . . . . What was she suffering from? Appendicitis? . . . . "

You NEVER use a preposition with which to end a sentance. So, you SHOULD have written . . . "From what was she suffering?"

I first read this book when I had just begun my freshman year of college in January 1959, and it had such a profound effect upon me, that I have read it every January since!!! It keeps me thinking in a straight line. I have purchased close to 400 of these books - a couple dozen at a time. I give them to anyone that wants one, and I write inside the cover: "After reading this, PLEASE pass it on to someone else. God Bless you!" I have just ordered 2 more dozen today, which I will keep in my truck to hand out. Perhaps Mr. Scranton needs to quit being so critical, and pay attention to what he read - I thought it was quite OBVIOUS what was causing the man's wife to suffer!! And so what if it is not written the way YOU want - it just could save your soul.

I agree that everyone needs to read this book. Let me ask you - is YOUR faith so strong that YOU could watch them cut off YOUR Father's ears, all because YOU refused to take the "Mark of the Beast" ? When I first read this book, my answer was NO. But, by reading this book over and over every year, each time I saw and understood more and more - now I can definitely say, "Yes, I could!" And all it cost me was a little of my time and $3.25 for the book! What a great investment!

This is the only book that I've read on the Rapture that is right on target with the Word of God. It is definitly the Book to read about the second coming of the Lord.

I remember reading this book when I was a young girl and the impact that it had on me then. I've learned so much more from scripture since then, yet the Rapture is still a sobering event. There is much about the imagery in the books of Daniel and Revelation that are difficult to illustrate because the authors had no common point of reference for us. For instance, an "image" to John could be a holographic image for us or video feed.
At any rate, the event of the Rapture is still one that every human must prepare for. There will be many who will not embrace the truth of scripture until it is too late and Mr. Angley did a good job portraying what that could feel like in the pages of this book.
I wouldn't treat this writing as a dependable commentary on end time events, but it is a good story, well-written and I found myself pulled in just as I was as a child.
