This book, dating back from a symposium now twenty years ago, includes timeless information. For instance, there is a fascinating chapter on the REE-bearing clays of South China. Information is provided on the REE concentration as well as the beneficiation of these clays.This book also contains some basic information. For instance, there is a good summary of the principal REE-bearing minerals (p. 17). This includes their empirical formulas. There are chapters on REE-containing alloys, REE-based magnetic substances, the beneficiation of various REE-bearing deposits, REE-based catalysts, REE phosphors in lighting applications, and much more. |
