5.0 out of 5 stars Charming!
What a lovely find. Mr. Hayford is all class & polish, and very much in the vein of one of his influences, Matt Dennis. Wonderful seldom-heard and nearly forgotten songs that recieve fresh, glowing interpretations. No pseudo-hip arrangements or wailing ersatz jazz vocals here, just voice and piano -- understated, but still swinging -- and just perfect!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nondescript voice but charming selections
Mr. Hayford's voice is largely undistinguished. He's like a pleasant piano-bar player. But I give him points for finding such obscure and delightful treasures like ''I Go for That'' and ''When Bert's Not Here.'' If I start hearing these lovely tunes in more cabarets, it'll be due to this recording.

Justin Hayford's recordings of wonderful standards (that someone forgot to make standard)is a joy to hear. I love standards, but how many recordings of any one song do you want to own? Here is a raft of songs mostly new to me (and that's hard to do). Especially liked "You're Awful"
Thank you Chicago for sharing Mr. Hayford with the rest of us!
