5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gems & Different Takes
This wonderful album, released in 1992 in Japan, includes many hidden gems and different takes which are not included in the original albums. In the booklet, O'Sullivan says he prefers these different versions of the three songs included in the album 'Off Centre'. I agree with him, these arrangements sound less crowded and more refreshing.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1/2 a Gilbert
I gave this album 3 stars only because the first 5 or 6 tracks merited it.

The remaining songs unfortunately are almost like space fillers. They could be just anyone'

Had GOS remained in his cooperation with Gordon Mills, would things have been different?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gems & Different Takes, December 11, 2010

It is surprising that all these songs hadn't been included in his previous albums and been unknown for so long. Most of the songs bear his hallmark of bittersweet lyricism, inspired melodies and the unpredictable harmonic shift. Track 7 and 14 are the only songs which I found lack the same quality. The rest are vintage O'Sullivan songs, full of gentle melodies, witty lyrics and smashing ideas.

It is also an amazing fact that while all the oldies stations constantly play the same 30 or 50 songs on and on and on each day, they can not find one GOS song to reminisce the early seventies...!
