Biography

The Who are a four-piece mod/rock band whose first album, My Generation, bristled with attitude; the lyric "I hope I die before I get old" tapped into the disaffection felt by post-war baby boomers, helping to secure a loyal fanbase and establish the band at the forefront of the mod movement.

In the studio the band's innovative approach to recording helped to realise Townshend's vision and album… Read more in Amazon's The Who Store

5.0 out of 5 stars UK version of Who's Missing and Two's Missing, March 20, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Rarities V.1 & 2 (Audio CD)
If you can't get your hands on Who's Missing or Two's Missing, get this one! It's got all the good tracks from both albums plus some not-so-rare-anymore songs including 'Join Together' and 'Let's See Action' (Both are found on The Ultimate Collection and My Generation: The Very Best of The Who). One feature on this album is the b-side of 'Join Together', 'Baby, Don't You Do It', which I haven't found on any other album, which makes this album a good one to get (Did I say good, no, I meant GREAT)

I also reccomend Hooligans

4.0 out of 5 stars The forgotten ones on one cd!!!!!!!!!!!, July 9, 2006
This review is from: Rarities V.1 & 2 (Audio CD)
This cd is another WHO compilation of leftovers and @forgoten songs included as A and B sides of 45 rpm discs. There are some great songs here such as JOIN TOGETHER, THE RELAY, I DONT EVEN KNOW MYSELF, DOGS, HEAVEN AND HELL, WHEN I WAS A BOY AND DR. JECKYL AND MR. HIDE (the latest 3 penned by the late John Entwistle). This cd may be considered as ODDS AND SODS part II.
The question is...why did their record company, managers or the band, did not give this songs the treatment they deserved?

John Entwistle songs are very very good and the Roger Daltrey penned HERE FOR MORE has a great bridge and the 3 chords the song uses were later used by Pete on Quadrophenia (Sea and Sand, 5.15 and I ve Had Enough.

This collection also includes WASP MAN a 3 chord KEITH MOON song originally taken from GLORIA by the band THEM. I all this is another great who collection.

First of all, mine is ONE CD & not two as they advertise, nevertheless, anyone wishing to sample every Who "B" side and a few "A" sides then get this one before it goes out of print or worse too expensive! A great collection of tracks that are all in one place in there original versions as well. The other reviewers gave the same opinion as myself & as I say, get it, before it is gone for good ;-) Search Judemac Forever on msn.
