5.0 out of 5 stars still sounds fresh, July 11, 2002

Keith Hudson - `Rasta Communication'.
Undoubtedly Keith Hudson's greatest album, with a set of classic songs like `Felt we Felt the Strain', the legendary ` Rasta Communication' and the full length of the `Nah Skin Up' disco mix.
It was voted record of the year in 1978 and still sounds fresh even 18 years after Hudson's early death from cancer. The sound from this stunning album is totally unique, with a proud and righteous feel to it. As if Hudson's fantastic vocals, production and arrangements weren't enough, the album also contains an awesome line up of musicians, including Sly and Earl `Chinna' Smith.
This is definitely one of reggae's finest ever albums, with a fantastic set of songs way ahead of their time. I can promise you, you will never find another reggae album, from any decade, with this kind of quality and class.

5.0 out of 5 stars Desert Island Reggae, June 17, 2005

If I had to choose an album to take on a deset island then it would be this one.
I bought this cd for one track...NUH SKIN UP which I had on a 12" single back in 79 when I lived in a bedsit in Bristol but I never had this album...but what I have found out listening to this today is I had rythms from this on a dub or dj album someone like U BROWN orBARRY BROWN and the backing tracks were awsome and I never realized they cam from this album so I have had a real pleasant surprise but now I have to track down the dub album with the dj I can't really remember.
So take it from me a guy who grew up from rock steady to reggae this album will be one of the best you will ever hear for it's social content, superb dub-rythm arrangment.THE BEST so I want to know in this world of pure rubbishy girly wirly bands that turn out pure trash noise with total unforgetable lyrics and yet you have someone like KEITH HUDSON who made this masterpiece why oh why arn't these reggae artists given the credit for what they deserve.Everyone goes on about Bob Dylon and the likes by him who made good social music then we have the people from Jamaica who this sort of thing was just normal everyday music but with the irresistable rythms we all love.Somewhere out there something has to answer.
If anyone knows the albums I am talking about please contact it would be great.blacksmith877@hotmail.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely one of the best, February 28, 2005

I fully agree with Ally about this album being one of the best reggae albums ever. Maybe it's the best. I can think of only one reggae album that is this good: 'Green Valley' by Militant Barry, produced by: Keith Hudson. It's more or less an even weirder version of this album and as far as I know not available on CD.
