1.0 out of 5 stars Not completely truthful
I have been traveling to Jamaica for over 20 years. I have many Rasta friends and also many TWELVE TRIBES brethren. I have to say, that the parts of the book that supposibly quote rules of being a Rasta are untrue.
The writer claims to have written this based on teaching of Bob Marley, Malcom X and several other's with theories on rightous living.

5.0 out of 5 stars Written for the Love of Rastafari, August 3, 2009
This review is from: Rasta: : Emperor Haile Sellassie and the Rastafarians (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book for those who are curious of the "livity" of Rastafari. Written by one of the most influential bredren in the Rasta community, Jah Ahkell, reasons in simple words the meaning and way of life of those who follow this most beautiful, precious and spiritual movement. Although Jah Ahkell is no longer of this earth, his words are still heard.....

This review is from: Rasta: : Emperor Haile Sellassie and the Rastafarians (Paperback)
We all know Bob Marley's father was caucasian, so to have that knowledge and then write six principals of being a Rastafarian are: Page 10) HATRED FOR THE WHITE RACE, and 3) Revenge on whites for their wickedness....I was quite appaled and taken aback, since not one Twelve Tribes member I know thinks/lives this way, and many I know in Twelve Tribes are caucasian.
Also, the writer then contradict's himself on page 11, writing: 5) We disapprove and abhor utterly hate, jealousy, envy, deceit, quile, treachery, etc.
So, rastafarians "disapprove of hate"....but on page 10, the first rule is "HATE for the white race"???

Do not waste your time with this book. It is just some slapped together nonsense based on a blend of theories that clearly have no common ground,
Bob Marley is rolling over in his grave over this one~

Read "Kebral Negast" if you want to learn anything about Rastafari.
A skinny book of 50 pages that was the worst $9.00 I spent on a book ever.
I wish I could get my money back. Tbest part is the cover of the book!
