I AND I IS A TRUE FAN OF KALONGI SINCE HIM STEP UP INNA THE MUSIC WORLD.MI LOVE HIM AS A TRUE AND RIGTHIOUS BRETHREN. AS A CLEAN AND DECSENT BOBO YOUTH WHO UTTER NOTHING BUT WORDS OF WISDOM AND LOVE WITHIN THE BLACK NATION AT HOME AND ABROAD. BUT I AM GETTING DISSAPOINTMENTS FROM HIM NOWADAYS. HE IS NOT TRYING TO BE WHAT HE WAS AT THE BEGINNING.AND THIS IS EVIDENT IN THE INCLUSION OF MORE PUNNANY AND PUSSY RYLICS. TRACKS LIKE "GIVE IT TO THEM" AND MORE LIKE THAT. BUT I STILL LOVE SIZZLA TO MY BONES AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO AS LONG AS HE IS SINGING.I AM FROM GAMBIA WEST AFRICA , AND WE LOVE SIZZLA MORE THAN ANY ONE ELSE.

Kalonji has dropped three albums in the span of a little over one month. And this one takes the cake. He captures every aspect that we have come to love about his music. The album starts with the title track and is the perfect lead off for the album. He sings about H.I.M. and in the very next song sings about the mother land. The beats are raw and gritty, and are so powerful that you can't resist bobbing your head. This album is a must get, and should not be compared to his old tunes. He's coming with new styles and is re-creating his flows everytime. In the name of His majesty, blessed love.

Sizzla - Rastafari Teach I Everything,

I gotta say this is one of my favourite sizzla albums and one of my favourite reggae albums of all time, it is one of those albums you can easily listen to all the way through, without skipping any tunes.
Although some of the reviews here have been critical i think this album is well worth a look! what with the rawkus 'Yes I Get High' and 'Revenge' and the melodic 'Beautiful' and 'Give Her The Loving' and my personal favourite 'Better Make Sure'. Try not to compare it to other sizzla albums just see it on its own, if you buy i'm sure you won't be dissapointed! PEACE

not Sizzla's best,

First I should say, if you are new to Sizzla, do yourself a favor and buy his "Praise Ye Jah" album first. This album (Rastafari Teach I Everything) has one incredible song (the title track), and several good tunes, but about 50% of the time Sizzla sounds like he is simply rehashing his same ideas, melodies, and vocal styles/flows and he comes off uninspired. Sizzla really set the bar high for himself with his early work on Praise Ye Jah and as time goes on his music is seeming to be more the product of a job he does to pay the rent than a divine calling.

It is always a joy to hear timely new words and beats from the Bobo, but i was disappointed after listening to this album in a local record store here in Orlando. I agree with Music Fan from Zion's review and selection of albums to purchase. I got the Taking Over album the said day, and also have Black History, love them both! Staunch Sizzla fans will love the 'RED' Bobo that prevails throughout the 'Taking Over' album!

Sizzla always come out with three albums a year: A Greensleeves, VP, and a Jet Star release, so this 3rd release comes as no surpries. This release is the worst of the three this year. Whoever made the beats for these songs did an injustice to Sizzla. Just listen to the the sound clips for yourself. I heard the sound clips on CDNow.com (much better sound quality) and was not impressed at all having already bought Taking Over and Black History. This release is a sad attempt at crossing-over on the part of Greensleeves records. The "hip-hop/r&b" (or whatever they are) beats are weak!! I'm a big fan of Kalongi's music and I have every single album (from Burning Up to Taking Over) but this is one I prefer to leave with the distributor. If you're looking for new Sizzla music, do yourself a favor and get Taking Over or Black History instead.

Sizzla Kalonji- The busiest man in reggae. . .,

It is absolutely amazing- the number of tunes that Sizzla has written in his career, unquestionably the most prolific writer in reggae history, and it also helps that he is the reigning undisputed best lyricist in the game as well. Sizzla's style of djaying and singing has always worked for him, and he has certainly put his skills to great usage by cutting as many songs as he has while doing around 15 albums now. This particular record here is very very good. As always he manages to serve up the huge hits and bigup the Rastafari at the same time as he covers various topics. The best song here, in my opinion is Beautiful with its fantastic rythym and Sizzla's flow is as good as it gets. I also like Yes I Get High, Give Her the Loving and Make Love, they are all top notch Kalonji and he gets his message across completely in them all. As you notice on every Sizzla record, there are no completly wack songs, there are some that are not his best work, but they, just as music alone, are really pretty decent.A mistake with this one by the record company Greensleeves, Sizzla's straight bashment track Woman Dem A Fi We should've been here, as he has several songs here which speak about similar messages. Overall, eat this one up, I gave it a 4 because I don't think that it is as good as Taking Over on VP, but as it stands alone its probably a 4.5 or a 5, go get Taking Over today, then go and get Rastafari Teach I Everything, the next day. Amazing. |
