A Fun game in a series of entertaining games,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction Platinum for Sony PS3 (Video Game)
I'm not going to be long winded with this so I'll sum this up.
This chapter of Ratchet and clank was my introduction to the series and has convinced me that games can exist like TV shows. I have never played a Ratchet and Clank game before this and I was left in the dark on a number of things from the outset, but really that didn't matter when it came to enjoying the game. It's a very simple mechanic of "Here's the cartoon-y world, bad guys, and good guys and here's a LOT of fun toys you can use to make things go BOOM!!" I played Jak and Daxter when I was in high school and I can say with confidence that the story and depth in those games is greater than this series, but I will say that these are appropriate in length and never outstay their welcome. The game is pretty and has some very entertaining characters even if their presence in the game world is obviously forced, and there are some very fun puzzles to solve. The game itself isn't all that challenging even on "insane" mode, but it is satisfying and definitely worth picking up if you've got 20 bucks, a PS3, and an hour a day to play a fun game for a week or two. -NAdducci |
