Book Description

January 25, 2005
FINALLY, A SIMPLE BOOK ABOUT SIMPLICITY!

Eighty-one percent of Americans agree with the statement, “More and more, I am looking for ways to simplify my life.” Yet in a world dominated by consumerism, most don’t know where to start.

Rational Simplicity offers a path. It is a program with no rules, steps or excessive paperwork. Instead, it provides a series of suggestions to help change your relationship with money.

At its core, simple living is living on less than you earn. But simple living has the final goal of escaping from paid work and pursuing what is really important to you. The opposite of simple living is consumerism. Consumerism is the belief that things will make you happy. Simplicity is the acknowledgment that they will not.

With rational recommendations and sensible strategies, this book encourages you to spend less time pursuing material goods and more time pursuing your dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and Simple, February 7, 2005

I bought this book from the website www.rationalsimplicity.com.

This is a great book. It is short and simple and explains how to stop wasting money on consumer goods and move toward spending your time on what is really important.

They also give you a free bumper sticker reading "Less Stuff, More Time," on the www.rationalsimplicity.com website.

"Rational Simplicity" has changed the way that I look at money.

5.0 out of 5 stars rational simplicity - it could change your life!, March 6, 2005

This review is from: Rational Simplicity: Setting Course to a Simpler Life (Paperback)
I am so excited about this book! Finally someone has merged personal financial management, savings techniques, real estate investment, and early retirement strategy in a concise guide. If you want to get out of the work/spend cycle, this book is your answer. This is a "no gimmicks" guide to evaluating your relationship with money. Very well written, with easy to understand examples from the author's personal experiences.
