5.0 out of 5 stars Forget Alanis. Sass sings BLUES!!, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
Sass Jordan is incredible! She has a powerful voice and plenty of attitude. I've seen comparisons of Sass Jordan and Alanis Morrisette. The comparisons are misplaced. This is not adolescent angst. Sass is a blues rocker.

Put the disc in and turn it up!

5.0 out of 5 stars So you miss Janis Joplin?, December 15, 1999
By
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
Excellent audio quality and mixing of super voice.

As I listened to the first few cuts, I kept sensing I was listening to something that Joplin with Big Brother & the Holding Company might have evolved into.

But, this is not some copy-cat fraud. (Remember those awful Beatles imitation groups in the early 1960's? Yuk!) Raving songs with passion and sorrow -- this reveals its flower power roots but show's its 90's punch -- Sass Jordon should not be missed.

"Rats" Rocks! Rats rocks every track of the way -- track after track!

5.0 out of 5 stars Puts Alanis to shame, April 28, 1999
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
Although I love Alanis's voice, Sass set the trend for heartbreak rock songs. As a singer, I love ripping through this album at the top of my lungs in the car on a long drive. Suns Gonna Rise is a beautiful song of hope. Ugly cracks me up, Damaged and High Road Easy rock!!! I miss you Sass, it's time for another album! - You biggest fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sass needs to get this on U.S. radio stations!, April 13, 2005
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
I had never heard of Sass, when I bought this CD at a garage sale. I think that was back in 1993. When I first listened to it, I was blown away. And, to this day, I still keep that CD in the 5-disc changer of my car. I will never tire of listening to it. I don't understand why I have never heard her songs on the radio. Everyone who has heard my Rats CD, has raved about how good she and her music are! Sass really needs to come to the United States one of these days, and re-release this album! I think that the people here would welcome her old stuff , as "new and edgy". To me, it is just as cutting-edge today, as when I first heard it. Us 30-somethings are ready for some new-old ROCK! I think she could be just the one to give us that too. She would most certainly be the next Superstar.

5.0 out of 5 stars A vastly underrated artist, November 28, 2004
By
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
If there was one artist I could think of that really deserved recognization in music but never got it...Sass Jordan would be that artist. Imagine if Janis Joplin had survived drug overdose, she would sound like Sass Jordan. I loved Sass' first album "Racine". It was a good mix of blues and hard rock. Her second album "Rats" was no sophomore jinx. How can it with the killer blues/rock opener "Damaged"? What really struck me is Sass' attitude. She didn't write no wimpy pop song like a lot of singer/songwriters do nowadays. Her music had a lot of attitude. Her vocal stylings reminded me of Shannon Curfman but older. Her vocals are gritty and rough around the edges. Even the slower songs on the album still maintained the same attitude that I hear on the faster, more uptempo songs. Other than "Damaged", my personal favorite songs on the album has to be "I'm Not" (I felt like I could relate to the lyrics), "Ugly" (w/George Clinto), and "Wish". It is too bad that the only Canadians that got recognition in the states has been all terrible 'artists' (i.e Bryan Adams and Celine Dion). Sass Jordan was the best thing to come out of the north.

This girl rocks! Her group is tight. She must be one hell of a live act. But... where's the follow-up CD? Everytime I go to a record store... 'cuse me, music store, I look for new Sass Jordan - it ain't there. Hope she's OK....

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful voice and great band, January 27, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
Sass has a powerful voice that does grit and raw as well as honey sweet. The band is a tight, guitar driven group that rocks it pretty hard. Fans of blues rock will not be disappointed, but this album should have broad, cross genre appeal. It's just great music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rats Rocks, December 24, 2010

With a depth and understanding of soul and blues this woman rocks in this album. Her style and the dynamics of a the band leads you on a journey of time. Many times you hear music and it might be good but you know that it has not been from the soul searching and living of that person...move aside as Sass Jordan blows that out of the water. Great product..great deliver and thank you Amazon for your speedy service to the world down under.

This review is from: Rats (Audio CD)
I have been looking in stores and used CD places for this CD for a fewe year it seems like. I found it here. The package arrived sooner than expected and the quality was excellent for a used CD. I ordered 2 CD's and even with shipping it was less expensive than one new CD. Great tunes, Sass has an awesome voice and the songs are strong,, well written and powerful, 5 stars

if anyone needed any more proof of how unfair the music business is look no further than Sass Jordan.
A no talent bimbo like Britney Spears gets all kinds of attention for prancing around like a two dollar
hooker and lip syncing but a real singer like Sass goes practically unnoticed. Maybe someday the
brainwashed public will open their ears and make up their own minds.
