5.0 out of 5 stars Come on, people..., October 28, 2009
This review is from: Rats Sing Sing (Audio CD)
Wow! I can't believe that I am the first reviewer of THIS album! This album is gold! If you are a musician, or a music lover, interested in punk rock, Pixies, Deerhoof, and similar sounds, this album won't disappoint you. This is the first GGGA album I bought based on a review I read on Magnet magazine. Well, actually, the review had nothing to do with it. I usually listen to all the albums a magazine reviews on Amazon.com, just to see what's new out there. And just by listening to the clips alone, I thought, "Hey, sounds interesting. I'll give it a try." And it blew me away.

The album veers from punk-rocky, to 'surfy-Hawaiian' style and well... I could waste my time trying to come up with metaphors and similes, but just play the songs for yourself and you'll see. It reminded me a lot of Pixies 'Doolittle' album, in sound as well as playability, but since a lot of people (apparently the entire world, except me) haven't heard of GGGA, it might take some sneaking in a few songs here and there for parties. But it will sink in pretty quickly, and a lot of tracks certainly stand out to include in a MP3 rotation of like-music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rats! Sing! Sing! GoGoGo on Vinyl! Awesome!, June 15, 2010
This review is from: Rats! Sing! Sing! [Vinyl] (Vinyl)
San Diego, CA's GoGoGo Airheart began writing in 1996 at the hands of core members Mike Vermillion and Ashish Vyas. After two years of relentless basement rehearsals and a string of homemade cassettes, GGGAH were picked up by a local indie label.

The Fall of 2004 saw the return of guitarist Benjamin White and the writing/recording of latest album "Rats! Sing! Sing!", released late 2005, which would be the group's final album. In early 2006, the band decided to call it quits.

This release is another "listen to the whole thing in one sitting" concept album full of pop gems wrapped in a blanket of dub. Combining virulent dub inflected rhythms, spasms of skittish, wirey guitar and Vermillion's signature breathless vocals, GoGoGo Airheart stands as a distinct blueprint of post-punk's progressive ideals and Dub Reggae's elastic studio wizardry.

A great final album. However, my favorite album of theirs is EXITHEUXA, a mind-blowing work of originality by GGGAH.

You can't go wrong with GoGoGo on vinyl.
