5.0 out of 5 stars Brings back good memories
Wow, this DVD release is special. It collects 2 old Ratt VHS video releases, and adds on about 4 more videos. It was a treat watching this as all the songs are great, and the videos are good, especially the earlier videos which feature cameos from Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue. The Detonator video all videos are well made, the band looks great and the production is...

First off, i'd like to say that i'm a HUGE, HUGE Ratt Fan, and i was eagerly awaiting a release like this for years, where they had all the old Ratt videos on DVD and hopefully some cool extras, like current interviews w/ the band members, live footage, etc., etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars Should have been better..., August 6, 2007
This review is from: Ratt - Videos From the Cellar: The Atlantic Years (DVD)
First off, i'd like to say that i'm a HUGE, HUGE Ratt Fan, and i was eagerly awaiting a release like this for years, where they had all the old Ratt videos on DVD and hopefully some cool extras, like current interviews w/ the band members, live footage, etc., etc.

Basically, what we have here is their only 2 VHS releases on DVD, plus all the videos that were never released, like "Dance", "You're in Love", etc., and THAT'S IT....NO other extras, except some lame commentary, which i'll get to later. Don't get me wrong, it's still cool, but for the die-hards like myself or the casual Ratt fan, it would have been nice to add some extra unreleased stuff, but i guess it wasn't meant to be...OH WELL!!

Also, where is the "Nobody Rides for Free" video???? Not only is that one of their better songs, but it's probably one of their TOP videos. I guess RHINO and/or Ratt couldn't pry it away from whoever has rights to that baby!! It's too bad, because it would have been nice to cap off this collection w/ a GREAT Song & Video!!

You should also be aware that there's this annoying audio feature where you can watch this entire DVD collection w/ Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini doing commentary. It's rather BORING if you ask me, and what's even more irritating is that you really have to increase the volume to hear their voices, which can be detrimental to your audio system, b/c once the clip is over, it goes back to the normal volume setting, which is now VERY, VERY high, as i found out the hard way. Whoever came up w/ this idea should be Detonated, LOL!!!

Finally, i think the guys could have paid a little tribute to Robin "The King" Crosby. It's the least they could have done for a key member of this band. NOT COOL guys!!

I guess we'll have to wait for the follow-up DVD, if they're still around...PEACE!!!

Plus good to see Robin Crosby again, his guitar playing with Ratt should not be forgotten about.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ratt & Roll Videos, July 6, 2007
This review is from: Ratt - Videos From the Cellar: The Atlantic Years (DVD)
What happened to "Nobody Rides For Free"? Having most of the videos on DVD is great. Maybe the missing ones are hiding somewhere on the disc. All in all this DVD is long over due and great addition to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent reintroduction, August 28, 2007
This review is from: Ratt - Videos From the Cellar: The Atlantic Years (DVD)
I personaly have been waiting for this compilation since 1991 when they released thier BEST OF RATT N ROLL 8191. And it comes with the bonus videos also. My only complaint is that the video for NOBODY RIDES FOR FREE is not on here. I am sure it is not the bands fault but someone involved with the movie POINT BREAK since the video had movie footage in it.

Otherwise a great visual career retrospective and hopefully a live dvd will be the next release.

ps. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THAT HOT BLONDE IN THE SHAME SHAME SHAME VIDEO?

5.0 out of 5 stars Left out Nobody Rides For Free, August 25, 2007
This review is from: Ratt - Videos From the Cellar: The Atlantic Years (DVD)
1st off, excellent DVD for die hard RATT N ROLL fans. Brings back some good memories. The one thing that I was disappointed about was the fact that they did not include "Nobody Rides For Free" from the Point Break movie. The video took place out on a beach and featured Ratt as a 4 piece band (Crosby left prior to the recording of the song). Hopefully Ratt will officially release a live concert DVD and include this lost video.

This DVD is well worth the money. I would have loved to see some more "behind the scenes", especially with Robbin Crosby, my favorite. I hope there is another DVD released in the future, maybe featuring some live performances from the albums.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ratt DVD is cool, August 11, 2007

This is a must-have for all ratt fans. Great to have all the vid's in one collection on DVD. Don't know why "Nobody Rides for Free" isn't there but maybe there were some licensing issues or something?

Stephen and Warren's comments throughout the videos are interesting to hear - would've been nice to see or hear some interviews or commentary by other members of the original band (Blotzer, Croucier or maybe even footage of Crosby).

Was hoping for more behind the scenes footage, maybe some live clips or something. I'm disappointed that none of that is in there but for $12 bucks or so, this is well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great 80's look-back DVD, October 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ratt - Videos From the Cellar: The Atlantic Years (DVD)
As with "Dokken's "Unchain the Night", this "Ratt" Videos from the Cellar" is just as good with videos from the same time, some of the videos are sexually suggestive, but hey, this was the 80's where rock bands ruled the charts & MTV & pretty much has held up in terms of artistic quality, can anyone compare this music to today's so-called music, not that today's music is all bad, but in terms of artistic quality, few can do that today, we also get interviews with the band members who seem laid back for the most part, even Little Richard pops in to chat with them, he obviously was a fan no doubt, the only disappointment here is the video "Nobody Rides for free" is MIA, this is a song they did for the 1991 film "Point Break" that starred Patrick Swayze & Keanu Reeves & there are highlights of the film in the video, which is likely the reason why it is missing because of copyright issues, however, aside from this, all their other great ones are here, A must own for "Ratt" fans!

It is what it is and its Ratt. You get their good videos, cheesiest outfits and above avg songs. I like it though because it brings back awesome memories of what the 80's were. Ratt was a top notch live act and jammed.

They still tour to this day and I can't wait to see them.
