BARREN CROSS REUNION CD ROCKS, December 10, 2005
This review is from: Rattle Your Cage (Audio CD)
This album by Barren Cross is way underrated and went out of print almost as soon as it was released. This reunion cd is one of the best you are going to find. Someone mentioned the cd doesn't sound produced like the Elephante brothers used to do it. That's true, but if I want to hear that version of Barren Cross then I will put on Atomic Arena or State Of Control. This is not a case of if it's not broken, don't fix it. This album sounds fresh and it rocks very hard.
This album features some of their best songs with "Here I am" "Midnight Son" and "Time For Love." It also has some of the heaviest songs written by them like "Unsuspecting" and "Rattle Your Cage" This album went unnoticed much like Bloodgood's 'All Stand Together'(another great album) and deserves a listen. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
Stand Out songs "Here I Am" "Let It Go,Let It Die" "Far Away" and "Rattle Your Cage"

Rattle Your Cage! Very underrated!, April 14, 2011
This review is from: Rattle Your Cage (Audio CD)
Dont listen to the all the hype about this album being uninspired, broken/fixed, poorly produced, etc... What we have here is a more personal side of Barren Cross. Theres no denying their previous albums are without a doubt classic Barren Cross! Of course the Elefante Brothers did a fantastic job producing thier previous albums. BUT with this album, you dont have the Elefante brothers influencing their sound and song writing either. So Rattle Your Cage offers a more true side and sound of the band. And the production is fantastic in my opinion, its more raw and less polished, the way metal should be, but still sounds precise and clear at the same time, letting all the members showcase their instruments. There are even a couple Praise and Worship inspired songs showcased in the softer songs, which is great. True this album does take on a little bit of a different vibe compared to their previous albums released in the 80's, but it should, it was released 5 years after their previous album!! And none the less, their sound is still unmistakable Barren Cross. And Mike Lee sounds good as ever! My suggestion, give it a chance.

Excellent Hair Metal, July 21, 2007
This review is from: Rattle Your Cage (Audio CD)
But it was released in 1994. This is one of the beat Pop-Metal albums you have never heard.
Midnight sun rocks hard and Rattle Your Cage opens this CD up in style.
