Pastis is the best cartoonist in the media today; his characters are truly the funniest and their conflicts hilarious. His warped views and not so warped but still delightful views enthrall everyone who reads his comic, Whether you read them online, or in a newspaper or in these truly great collections that are a must have. YOU will discover a truly fascinating world.
Pig, Rat, Zebra and the others characters are truly off the beaten path THANK GOODNESS. This isn't a cookie cutter comic strip because of Pastis's off beat and slightly crazed sense of the ridiculous. This humor makes you appreciate his genius even more. However The Croc's are the amazing stand out characters, they are the greatest idiots but yet are so loveable and their antics can make you howl with laughter. Run fly jump to the nearest keyboard and order these books. YOU will not be disappointed. And if you don't there is a box that Pastis has just for you.

Ever since I discovered PBS in our local paper I have been a devoted fan of Pastis' different? sense of humour. I have turned my friends and relatives on to PBS as well. I have made it a goal to buy all his books so I will have a complete collection that I can put beside my 'The Complete Far Side' and 'The Complete Calvin & Hobbes Collection'. PBS has earned the right to be in this great company.
Buy this book, in fact buy all his books; a mind this warped deserves to be rewarded.

I am a huge fan of Pearls Before Swine, and bought this book to add to my collection. The comics are great!

My only complaint is, I already owned one of his anthologies: Lions and Tigers and Crocs, Oh My! All but about three of the cartoons in this book (Ratvolution) are in Lions and Tigers and Crocs. It was really disappointing to spend another seven or eight dollars for all the same cartoons.

Otherwise, it's great, classic Pearls.

The author has a twisted sense of humor.
I LOVE IT !!

Of all the Pearls Before Swine, this is the weakest one. It has hardly any croc vs zebra strips. Still funny in places.

Steve Pastis has a very quirky sense of humor along with good observational skills. His animals pick up on all our silliness and they are funny, funny, funny. I esp. love the encounters between the crocs and zebras. The crocs never, never learn.

I bought this book for our 8 month anniversary. My husband and I love Pearls before Swine. We have laughed with almost every turn of the page. Stephan Pastis is great with his humor.
There are lots of characters to get to know if this is your first book, but you will enjoy each and every one and their quirks. Crocs are one of our favorites and we look for them first then go back to see pig and guard duck. This book is a great addition to your collection or if it's your first book....welcome aboard! You'll soon be hooked....lol

What else is there to say? Pastis IS the man. If his slightly drier, acerbic wit is your thing you'll love all of the Pearls collections. It's probably one of the best and most relevant strips in the funny papers. Seriously, how many times can Dagwood make a giant sandwich or Beetle Baily take a beating and still be funny? (Answer: A lot fewer times than its been done)

I continue to be a fan of Pastis and his managery of rats, pigs, and whatall.
