4.0 out of 5 stars RAUNCHY!! CATTYWAMPUS!!!
Sun Records was best known as the home of Elvis Presley, that's true, but many great performers came from Sam C. Phillip's little studio on Union Avenue in Memphis. Sam C. Phillips gave Bill Justis a chance in the late 50's, he scored big with "Raunchy" but was never able to duplicate his effort....This CD covers all of Bill's attempts at PHILLIPS...

1.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't what I thought it was
This CD is lousy. None of the music sounds raunchy AT ALL! Listen to Bill Dogget

Sun Records was best known as the home of Elvis Presley, that's true, but many great performers came from Sam C. Phillip's little studio on Union Avenue in Memphis. Sam C. Phillips gave Bill Justis a chance in the late 50's, he scored big with "Raunchy" but was never able to duplicate his effort....This CD covers all of Bill's attempts at PHILLIPS INTERNATIONAL (Sun Records). Some of the material is simply bad, but tunes like "Raunchy", "Cattywampus", "Scroungie" and "College Man" make the CD very interesting. If you're a collector of 50's "INSTRUMENTAL" Rock'n Roll. You may want to include this in your files...It shows the talent of Bill Justis and Sid Manker (the guitar player) , two "Hillbilly Cats" that made a big hit out of something that was called "Raunchy" in 1958.
