Raven: A Monumental Tenor Saxophone Recording,
By Greg Randolph (Johnson City, Tennessee United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Raven (Audio CD)
In my opinion, and I am a jazz fanatic, "Raven" by Dave Ellis the long time member of the Charlie Hunter Trio and Quartet, is one of the best tenor saxophone recordings in the past decade. I know that's a bold statement. But, it is the most thought provoking album by the most underrated jazz artist going. If you like great jazz, you must get this album. Peace

Simply brilliant! The best of the best young lions. He is pure magic whether it be original works or the magnificent covers of Shorter, Tyner, or Lennon/McCartney. A must buy!
