Unfortunately, Raven-Symoné is always automatically slapped with a 'Disney artist' label because of her past associations with the company. This is understandable, but it's time people move past that..and she is making just that statement with her fourth studio album, 'Raven-Symoné'. The album is full of uptempo R&B club bangers like "What Are You Gonna Do?", "Green", and "Girl Get It", as well as well-crafted pop/R&B ballads like "Anti-Love Song" and "Love Me or Leave Me", which surprisingly adds a little rock tinge to the chorus. While some of the songs come off as unnecessarily arrogant, you can tell it's all sang in good fun and aimed to make the record an overall party album. Raven has pulled just that off.

This album is definitely a great album.
The album is appropriate for all ages, PARENTS...don't worry, the album is also appropriate for your kids...I mean, were talking about "That's So Raven" star Raven-Symoné!

Raven-Symoné's new album will definitely shock the ears of her fans, and of people who have doubt in her, saying that she is "too Disney," or aims for a "younger crowd."
Raven works with Producers like Sean Garrett (Beyoncé), Kwame, Oak of the Knightwritaz, The J.A.M., and a bunch more!
The songs on the album make you feel good, sure, their are many songs you can dance to, there is only one song that is slow called "Hollywood Life," which is a great song!
Overall, I would give the album an 'A-', it is so much better than Symoné's 2004 "This Is My Time."

All of them....HONESTLY!

The #1 reason I hate Hollywood Records is that if the first single from an album doesn't do well on mainstream radio, they drop all promotion for it. The thing that really bothers me about it is the only promote it to Radio Disney/Disney Channel anyway. This was the case for Raven-Symoné, star of Disney Channel's "That's So Raven" & "The Cheetah Girls." The first single from her forth studio album was "Double Dutch Bus" which was not a good choice, but probably was only chosen to promote "College Road Trip."

Rather than a typical Disney pop album, this album is filled with hot R&B beats which go great with Raven's vocals. While the opening track "That Girl" is not that great lyric-wise, the beat makes the song good. It is followed by "Anti-Love Song" where Raven sings about lost love and dealing with the pain.

The only songs that have a hint of Disney in them are the songs from "College Road Trip." (In the Pictrues & Double Dutch Bus) Also, there is one song that I do not like... "Girl Get It" where she tries rapping. Possibly the best song on the disc is the ballad, "Hollywood Life."

Overall, this is a great CD. It does have it's share of filler, but it doesn't slow the disc down too much. I Recommend it if you liked her last album, "This is My Time."

Raven's new album is unbelieveable. She has always had strong vocals, which I love that's way I love this album, because she really brought it in this album. It is way better than This Is My Time. All the songs are like she said more of a up beat album. GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!

Being in my 30's and watching her on the Cosby show...I will always be a huge fan of Raven. Many tease and make fun of me but hey! she's gorgeous, seems genuinelly nice, a great role model and extremely talented. Of all the stars out there she's def at the top of my list of who I'd love to meet.
I have been in search for this cd pretty much since it came out best buy had it for awhile but then stopped carrying it due to low sales. I was so glad amazon finally had it(even tho it's a little weird that when i ordered it a few weeks ago it said 1 in stock and it still does?) but anyway, when i first purchase a cd i only listen to the first few seconds and then switch it to the next song. (even tho i basically already did it through here) I do admit that the first time I listened through every song I was a little disappointed since I fell in love with amazons sampler. But the second time through I fell in love with it. Perhaps it was just my mood that day?
The fast songs get you moving #8 Stupid is by far my favorite one. I always go to that one first then play the cd and repeat Stupid after it plays again. haha. The slow songs are good as well but since im mostly in my car listening to this I prefer more upbeat tunes. Hollywood life is AMAZING, my favorite slow track. I wonder if it's how she felt....even tho she was younger then the girl in the song. In Your Skin and Shorts Like Me are fun songs with a love who you are message without it being in your face.
I had to travel for 3 hours last week and just wanted to sleep..I played every fast song on here those whole 3 hours to stay awake. Ridiculous I know but it worked. And my point is this is a fabulous album.
my sister had purchased Beyonce's I am.... and was so disappointed by it i told her she should have just purchased raven's. she laughed and said "maybe i should have!"
I heard Raven in an interview say that she was thinking of going back into the studio but she didnt know why since no one ever buys her albums....well, people...start buying!!! This girl knows what she's doing and she can only go up from here...I cant wait for the next one. Ecstatic really

I really love all the songs in this album.They are very mature song, and if you have grown with her I highly recommend it.Let me warn you this not like her album This is my Time.This album is more on her R&B side then Pop.One best songs in this album are Anti-Long Song and Hollywood Life.If you don't want to buy the whole CD(Which you should) buy those songs and listen for yourself.MUST BUY!

Raven released this album on April 2008 and sold porly, very poorly

I have listened it and i have to say that is really good !!! Its like a mixture of different styles like hip hop, rap, pop, dance, and elecropop.

You will fin nice ballads like IN THE PICTURES or KEEP A FRIEND, which have nice lyrics and sounds.

Raven tried with hip-hop Rnb so we will find here songs like

THAT GIRL... VEry dance and great songs !!!! Makes you dance ! I swear ! Nice lyrics and powerfull rythim !!

ANTI-LOVE SONG is like a ballad but has electrnic.pop sounds on it... is a nice song which explains what Raven doesn't want to talk about love in a sogn cause that kind of lyrics are always in radio, very nice song !

SHORTS LIKE ME is like a challenging girl between girls that think that theyre so great cause are thin, popular and blonde--- in the other team Raven seems to be the lead and she belogns to a team with average girls with diferent kind of weight, skin color, etc.. Very powerfull and nice song...Super RnB and Hip Hoppy-.

aNOTHER song which is a nice surprise is called GIRL GET IT...Very hip hop and rap !!!! Definitely a great surprise !!!! Very danceable, Raven sings on it like Missy Elliot, Super great song !!!

At last there is a song called DOUBLE DUTCH BUS..included because Raven appear on a disney movie called COLLEGE ROAD TRIP and it was part of soundtrack..actually this song was the only one single

One of them are FACE TO FACE (It also appears as bonus track on Australian edition) Very nice dance-pop ballad, i like it A LOT

sO..I really do not understand why Raven doensn't keep more atention of the mainstream, this disc is great, actually has great productors like TImbaland, and OAK...so..what happen ???

This album and in general Rave deserve more attention and promotion...cause she is a very talented girl.

I just happened upon this album(cd)when I was trying to pick up "College Road Trip" for my daughter. I decided to pick it up because of all the positive reviews I saw on amazon.

All I can say is wow...What is really going on? Why is everyone sleeping on her talent! I know I didn't even know she had an album out last year. Where is the promotion...well anyway she has come along way from Oliva on The Cosby Show and her Characters on Disney!

She has blosomed into a beautiful young lady and her music had great dance beats and pop tunes that I truly enjoyed. I believe if they gave her songs some more air time her star would definetly raise even further than acting because she was gifted with a true talented voice.

Too bad people won't let her grow up!!! She is more than a Cheetah Girl!!!

Bottom line its a great price, great message, and the cherry on top is the great music!!!

I guess this album went by unnoticed by many just by the fact it landed on about the 154rth position or so in the billboard charts...honestly I think many people just don't know what they're missing. Raven did a great job on this album that lives up to the same standards of This is My time, standout tracks are certainly "In your skin" which holds a fast paced percussion along with a soft breathy voice by raven who nails it by handing out to the listener a positive line; when I listen to this track it just makes me want to move. Anti Love song, her vocals are just too amazing, and the concept it has is so solid and heart softening she pulls it off with this one. Uptempos are quie dancey and the album is deff a check out, too bad not many people own it or even gave it a spin or think its totally not worth buying, when it certainly is.
