Even though the tribe was invented and the background was a composite, I liked the feel and the ambiance of the reservation portrayed. The author dealt with some real problems of actual tribes. The characters were well developed. I liked the process of change that the hero and heroine both went through. I also liked this book's use of myth.

The book is about a Native American Indian prophecy involving an amber pendant with a raven feather in it. The main character, Camille, finds the pendant as a child and later, as an adult, finds herself involved in the prophecy. There's a lot going on so you won't get bored. Definitely worth reading!!

Great Book!,

Out of all the Patricia Simpson books (and I have read them all) Raven in Amber is my all time favorite. I read it all the way through in one sitting...I just couldn't put it down. Although the character's were ficticious the way Ms. Simpson write's, she made them all seem so real.
