Great historical fiction,

Ms. Crook takes a decidedly feminine approach to the Sam Houston legend and his infamously short marriage. She fills in the historical blanks with excellent conjecture, ideas that undoubtedly came after years of research. She humanizes these historical characters, people who might otherwise be just names in a textbook. THE RAVEN'S BRIDE is an engaging primer for readers new to the Sam Houston mythos.
It's also a great read!
