I bought this for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! This was definetly one of my best Christmas buys and I know she will continue to play with this for a long time to come. It was a little more expensive than some other bead looms avaliable but definelty worth it! It is very sturdy and my daughter loves the princess look to it. Something to keep in mind, I assumed that it was made for and included tiny seed beads but it actually uses small pony beads. This makes for wider bracelets, but is probablly better for smaller hands to deal with and follow the patterns. If you have a crafty child, I highly reccomend this product, you won't be dissappointed! (You can easily buy replacement small pony beads and embroidery floss at any craft store)

I gave this toy my daughter on her 9th birthday. She has spent endless hours making the most beautiful necklaces and bands. It is very simple to use and quite sturdy. It has proven a great tool to expand her creative abilities since after following the pre-defined designs on the manual she has come up with very pretty designs of her own.
I highly recommended it.

I purchased this product for a 10 year old girl. She is really happy with it and spends a lot of time using it. What I noticed is that she is spending a lot of time working on her projects but the string that came with the item is soft like embroidery floss so that the finished project won't stand up to any kind of wear. Other than that replacement beads, once the ones that came with it are used up, can be purchased most anywhere. This will keep the item easy to resupply.

One of the reasons I'm only giving this set two stars is that you can buy a whole lot of pony beads, needles & floss at the craft store for the same price. Another reason is that you can find phenomenally better instructions online in 10 minutes or less. The instructions in this set are pretty incomplete and leave a lot to be desired. They seem to assume some basic bead weaving skills and knowledge of bead weaving terminology. In my online search for better instructions, I found a plethora of written instructions and videos that got me started. I also learned that you can make your own bead weaving loom out of a cardboard box, so I would suggest you go to the craft store and skip this set. Finally, I also agree that a set like this seems more appealing to kids age 8 & up. I don't know what happened here. I've seen quality products from Ravensburger in the past, but this set let me down.

This is a pretty small loom that comes in a big giant box. If you're looking for something that's in a big box, then this would be a good big box gift. They really could have packaged it using about one fifth of the box size, but they didn't.

There are a lot of beads, but with the big giant box, it makes it look pretty empty.

The box is made out of cheap plastic. My box arrived with a few cracks on the inside plastic. The beads aren't the highest quality plastic either. A lot of the beads are broken, and a lot of them have the injection molding leftovers on them, so you'll be either throwing a lot of the beads away, or making really poor looking bracelets.

If this didn't have the Ravensburger name on it, I probably would have given it more stars, but this is the junkiest thing from Ravensburger that I've ever seen. I'm used to higher quality from Ravensburger.

This loom does make fun bracelets, even though the instructions are so confusing that an adult will have to read through them a few times, and will have to teach the child how to use this. But, that might be the point, that you have to do the bracelet together.

Pros:
+Comes in a big box
+Pretty good for a loom
+Has everything that you need to make a bracelet

Cons:
-Doesn't need the huge box that it comes in
-Doesn't live up to the Ravensburger quality
-Instructions are confusing
-Has a very low quality pair of scissors
-Advertises for ages 6 and up, but you probably need an adult helping until 12 and up

I gave this to my daughter (10 years old) to review, and she said she enjoyed making necklaces and bracelets, but the bracelets were more difficult. She didn't enjoy it as much as she thought she would (and she's very "crafty"). She said that it was hard to figure out, and the jewelry fell apart too easily, especially if you didn't tie the knots very tightly. She said that younger children will probably need their parent's help with it. She played with it for a while, but lost interest pretty quickly. Overall, she rated it as just "okay."

As I am a weaver and was going to a family vacation with my own loom, I decided to bring this cute-looking bead loom to my youngest niece (6 yrs old) to learn something fun to do while I weave as well. The loom was cute and VERY girly, lots of girl images on the box and inside, and the beads were cute. She had a very hard time figuring out how to use it, and me reading the instructions several times did not help me to figure it out either. After about 15-20 mins of experimenting, I finally figured it out.

Sadly, after doing one item, she lost interest as it was not that fun for her to do.
