Product Description

This Cat and Mouse game is a cheesy game of chase. From Ravensburger, Cat and Mouse is a fun game where kids race to get their mice as many pieces of cheese as possible. Working with fun chunky cheese pieces, they'll move their mice up and down and through the holes, collecting as much cheese as they can. But players will need to watch out for Mighty Max the tomcat, too. For 2-4 players. Contents include: one giant cheese, 17 pieces of cheese, three ladders, four mice, "Max" the cat, one die and rules.

I purchased this toy for my 4 year old daughter. She is the youngest of three, so she always wants to play family games, but it is difficult to find a game she can play independantly. With this game she can. Simple yet fun. Very durable game. The mouse drop down through holes in the cheese and my children love that element of surprise. My 9 yr old can play this with his two younger sisters, but would be bored with it othewise. My 4yr and 6yr olds really enjoy this simple game.

I recently got this for my 5 year old daughter. She loves games, and kicks everyone's but at tougher games like Monopoly. I am surprised at how much she loves this Cat and Mouse game, because there's not much to it. If you play by the rules it's over in three minutes. I find it boring, no strategy or even thinking, but the little one never tires of it. You can make your own rules to render it more interesting. It's a very high quality game structurally, Ravensburger is THE BEST QUALITY toy company. I highly recommend this toy as a first game for 3 or 4 year olds. I never would have bought it if I had played it first, but she gets such a kick out of it I'm not sorry we have it.

When I did my practicum for Speech Language Pathology at an elementary school, the Speech Path there had this game. The kids all loved to play it as they were fascinated as to where the mouse would come out as he traveled down the cheese hole. The game is simple: mouse travels around the game board and either collects cheese wedges or has to put them back and the first child to get a cheese wheel wins. Sometimes I would just allow the kids to drop the mouse down the holes. It's great for use during therapy as the kids can answer a language question and then take a turn rolling the die and moving their mouse. If there isn't time to finish the game, the child with the most cheese pieces wins. Now that I have my own school, I'm ordering this game so I can use it in therapy too.
