The pieces are made of plastic and are very durable and should last.

I'd recommend this for a child older than 7, but I'm not sure how much appeal the picture has to significantly older children.

FUN. FUN. FUN. FUN. FUN. FUN. DURABLE. FUN. FUN. FUN. My 4 year old son and I put this together in about 30 minutes time. He throws in, rolls it and does all sorts of boy things-and it hasn't broken once!!!! This was our first Ravensburger puzzle...we then purchased a pyramid one-love it too!

This 108 plastic piece puzzle is as unique in person as it seems. When it's completed, the puzzle is 6" in diameter, and is beautiful. It's labeled as appropriate for ages 7 and up. My 6.5 year old found it much too difficult to complete, even with my help. While there's a picture of the front of the ball on the puzzle box, there are no pictures of the rest of the sides of the ball included. That makes the puzzle more difficult to complete than usual. Add to that the fact that the puzzle is round, and it can be frustrating for an adult, nevermind a young child, to complete. We found that once we tried to place the different sections of the ball together, pieces would fall off and need to be fitted in repeatedly.

The directions in the box advocate completing the puzzle by using the numbers on the back of each piece. They recommend doing the puzzle in order of the numbers which run horizontally. This would certainly help to keep the ball more stable as you pieced things together. However, we didn't purchase the puzzle to just line numbers up. Part of the attraction was to complete it by visual recognition like a traditional puzzle.

We enjoyed completing this, although I think I enjoyed it more than my 6.5 and 10.5 year olds! I'd recommend this for a child older than 7, but I'm not sure how much appeal the picture has to significantly older children. I'm giving it a good review because I had a great time. I just think you need to age up on this.

This was our first shaped puzzle and we weren't sure on this purchase.

We were surprised just how GOOD it is.

The pieces are all numbered on the back if you need to determine what piece connects to it! The pieces are made of plastic and are very durable and should last. They all and I mean all fit together perfectly and held in place! The shape of the puzzle comes together as you add more pieces and is stable. Putting in those last few pieces can be a challenge but it was part of the fun. Our son who is 3 loves puzzles but found this to be too challenging. I think the age range listed of 7+ is about right. We; me and my Brother in Law; had fun putting it together and once completed it is a show piece and sits on the supplied stand in his bedroom. Once it is together it is stable and can be handled without concern for it falling apart. A few falls to the floor and it stayed together! This is good, because you will want to hold it and rotate it to see the entire depicted scene. The graphics are colorful and clear.

We would highly recommend this product.

I bought this for my husband as a joke. During a family vacation, he said, "Unless the puzzle has dinosaurs on it, I'm not participating in this silly activity." ...MUAHAHAHA!... All jokes aside, this puzzle is ok. The pieces are made of hard plastic, instead of cardboard (nice and durable). However, it has numbers on every piece, so it kind of takes the fun out of "solving" the puzzle. It was fun to kick the puzzle around on the floor once it was constructed. :)

I bought this for my 4 yr old and 8 yr old. I helped them with it but for the most part they did it themselves. If your kids like puzzles this is great.

My 7 year old was able to do this puzzle by himself. The ball is not very big so be sure you know what the final puzzle ball will look like to meet your expectations. The pieces fit together well and the numbering system makes it easy for younger children to put together.

My child loves puzzles and this was a fun interesting twist to do. Fun the way it developed as we put it together and looks great on his bookshelf.

Not sure it's the kind to do over and over, but definitely unique!
