We LOVE this game. We have only had it for a week or so, but we have played it in groups of kids from 4 to adult. We did have the little guys do it with their fingers. On night, we had a huge group of 12-13 year olds play, they didn't want to stop.

It has challenge cards, and you have two opposing people (can be played in teams) do the same building challenge. The challenge cards have a picture of the block sculpture to build. The first one to build it, using the tongs, gets the points.

Pros:

1- No batteries required
2- Good quality. Everything comes in the package, no need to buy or replace items.
3- Longevity. You can play this game for a long time. There are a lot of cards, and even if you get the same one twice, it is hard to remember.

Cons:

I think the only con would be if you didn't like this type of game. I also wish that it did have a few more challenging cards, but I don't wish for it enough to drop it to 4 stars.

I should also mention that I am terrible at this game! I am too shaky...my 6 year old always beats me, and he even uses the tongs.

Make n Break Challenge extends the popular Ravenburger series of games into the realm of head-to-head block-stacking death-match, where every move could be your last...

Until the next round.

The game is essentially a stacking race. There are 80 building cards that show what is to be constructed. Each card has a number that indicates the level of difficulty and the points to be earned (1-4). There is a card holder so that the opponents may both see the card. Each player is provided 10 colorful wooden blocks (2 red triangles, 2 blue cubes, 2 red cylinders, 2 green rectangles, 1 blue crescent, and 1 orange "bridge") and a pair of wooden tongs.

I'll let that sink in for a moment. A pair of wooden tongs, similar to those with which you would serve salad.

When a challenge card is revealed, the players race to build the structure on the card using only the tongs in one hand. And that hand? It has to stay behind a mark on the tongs so your fleshy, sensitive digits are almost 5 inches removed from the blocks you are attempting to stack. The first to complete the pictured challenge receives the points for that card. Another great twist in this game is the fact that the building cards have a wide variety of challenges. Many show a structure that the players must construct exactly as pictured, but some challenges allow players to make any structure as long as it follows certain rules. Some cards show the pieces that the players must use and the number of pieces that may be touching the table. Some tell how many can touch the table and how tall the structure must be. Some require the players to line the pieces up in order of size.

The wooden blocks present a significant test to human manual dexterity.

My 11yo and 7yo girls love to play this game. My 3yo son loves to play with it to, but only as a small building set. He looks at the cards and tries to replicate them without using the tongs. It is all very durable and I am very pleased with my purchase.

We just got this game this week for my daughter's 6th birthday. She and my 7 year old son immediately took to it. I had great fun watching them. With more and more play, their manipulation of the tongs and blocks improved. It was really fun and we did not even keep score. Both kids got good at it. I love building too, and felt like I was manipulating pieces of sushi!

One thing we would have liked is if there were more blocks to build with to make challenges last longer. Each challenge was over too quickly. It would be super cool to build a taller or wider tower, and deal with stability issues, to make it a super challenge!

Overall, great fun for everyone:)

This is a really fun game. I've got tons of board games/group games, and this one is really fun. It's especially fun to play with larger groups as a relay.

Little kids can play too, which is more appealing to me with a 9yr, 7yr, and 4yr old.

Pieces are bright, sturdy, nice clean edges. Instructions are clear. Would recommend to anyone with kids who like games, and people who don't always go for the serious sit down board games.
