This decanter looks gorgeous filled with red wine. The handle is very sturdy. When I ordered it I was afraid the handle might be too flimsy for the weight of a filled base, but it's not. The decanter sits solid on a table, and i have had no dripping problems with it. The top opening is large enough to easily fill with a bottle of wine, and the size of the opening also makes it easy to clean. A very distinctive decanter.

I ordered this item twice as a Christmas present. The first time the box came all crumpled but the decanter was in good shape. It is beautiful. Made the mistake of returning it because I couldn't give it as a present in that box and had it shipped directly to my sister's house. She said it arrived in a thousand pieces w/ no indication on the box that it was glass or fragile. So 5 stars for the product but 0 stars for shipping!
