This book is well worth the puchase. It's two books in one. It was an awesome read. You are QUICKLY drawn into the characters, their attraction towards each, and situations that they "think" prohibt a long-term relationship. I think you'll enjoy it.

SPOILER ALERT*************SPOILER ALERT***************SPOILER ALERT

I am really starting not to like Brenda Jackson's work. In the five books that I've read of her's are bout the same. All of the women are 'virgins', no one want's to admit that they are "in-love" and the other's feel as if they can sex their ex and not have old feelings flare up again.

Whats the point of being a virgin for twenty+ years if you're not going to wait til you are married. I know it's fiction based books, but it just defeat the purpose of it all.

A little Dare: This story started off good, but getting into the story was a mess imo. How can you not know about this boy being your son after finding out who is mother is, the age of the child and when she left town? It was just right out stupid how the planned on the boy finding out and then acting as if the fatherr didn't know. And for it to be a "small town" where everyone know everybody and the all talk, no one mentioned the fact that the boy was Dare's child... oh wait, they did but *we didn't find out until AJ decided it was time to tell his father about him.

Then there's the fact that Shelly kept saying that she wouldn't fall in love with Dare all over again just to have her heart broken *again but still end up having sex with him more than three times. If your were in-love before for, then those same feelings will return especially during sex. And she kept telling herself to fight the feeling's and avoid him at all cost. Did that happen? No. Every time they were in each others presences they ended up kissing, touching, giving the "look" and some of every thing else.

The thing about these romance novels(not all but most) that really irks my nerve is that fact that the whole book is about them/one of them trying to avoid each other, hiding their true feeling's, kissing and then regretting it etc. And about fifteen pages are about them finally giving in and admitting they love each other, getting pregnant, getting married and then boom the book is over.

Thorn's Challenge: Once again the story stared off good but then I came to the part when she says that she still a virgin. I'm like not another virgin. After reading that part I put the book down.

I'm not rating Thorn's Challenge until I finish reading it, which I will do eventually. I need to read something different and then come back to her book. And just to think I have SIX more books of her's to read. I am soooo glad I didn't go ahead and buy the other books that's on my list. I think I'll pass on Ms. Brenda Jackson and stick with Adrianne Byrd and Anna Black for my not-so-urban-lit books.

Lets not for get that this is MY opinion, so to all of Ms. Jackson's fans, be easy. 2.5 stars for A Little Dare.

-------------------------------

UPDATE: Thorn's Challenge was okay, like I said before, all of the books that I've read written by Ms. Jackson seems to repeat itself. All of them had the same story line with a different plot.

I'm going to read the other six that I have of her's and keep it moving to the next. I do not think I'll be buying any more of her book's. The saying, "If you've read one, you've read them all" is true when it comes to Brenda Jackson's book's.

2.5 stars for Thorn's Challenge as well as A Little Dare totaling to 5 stars...

Both stories were great about Dare's relationship with Shelly that lasted a long time, ended and rekindled after 10 years.. I liked reading about Thorn who is a moody character that finds love with Tara..... Highly recommend..

Brenda Jackson writes great romance that is not offensive. So if you want a great love story minus the erotica this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two for one!, October 15, 2010
This review is from: Ravished by Desire: A Little Dare\Thorn's Challenge (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a great deal with two books in one. The first novel A Little Dare, reminds me of how much I love Brenda Jackson, she emphasizes the romantic side of a man that makes him a good man. Its also about redemption from both the male and female side of a situation. I really enjoyed the love and the idea of coming full circle with 'unfinished business'. The second novel " Thorn's Challenge" is hot hot and more hot. Thorn is a brooding biker who just knocked my socks off. He makes this story completely worth it. I recommend this 2 for 1. Buy it.

'A Little Dare'
Dare Westmoreland terminated his stint with the FBI and is now the sheriff in his Georgia hometown. Dare is not the only person to return home, so has Shelly Brochman, she left home ten years ago after Dare chose a career over their relationship. Shelly has come back to save her young son from becoming a victim of the Los Angeles streets. She is convinced that Dare is her past and that she is completely over him. But, Dare has other plans for the woman who still heats his dreams and also some serious questions about the rebellious young boy he almost arrested earlier that day, and who reminds him so much of himself.

'Thorns Challenge'
Tara Matthews met Thorn Westmorland, a motorcycle tycoon and resident bad boy at the wedding of her best friend and Thorn's sister. The two formed and immediate aversion for each other. When they meet again Thorn, who has not gotten the impulsive doctor out of his mind has a plan. He wants to knock her off her high horse, seduce her and then do his usual disappearing act. But, his plan backfires and instead of showing her his back, he is hell-bent on capturing her heart. Tara, who has had her heart broken before, may not be that easy to convince.

RAVISHED BY DESIRE combines two of Ms. Jackson's hottest Westmoreland sagas, and reminds readers why the series is so popular. The characters are as engaging as ever and they still bring a smile to the heart.

Anybody who reads Brenda Jackson knows Delaney's story is off hte chain and Jahari's story doen't dissapoint. I bought the book because someone borrowed Delaney's story and never returned it. Now you know that's a must read.
