3.0 out of 5 stars Raw...not so much Green! April 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is GREAT if you're looking for raw smoothie recipes and need something simple and to the point. Green, not as much as I'd like. I was looking for GREEN, and a good portion of these use fruit as the main ingredient instead of green leafy veggies. It's good, but not great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes and ideas for healthier living... June 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a huge fan of any new book or product which raises awareness about eating more raw vegetables and promotes healthier alternatives to traditional styles of eating. This book falls into that category. I like the idea of using products like "Chlorella" and "Spirulina" for added benefit as well as helping to aid in the green coloring of these smoothies. It's a little pricey making them this way, but the additional levels of chlorophyll is a nice addition to an already healthy idea. I'm not so sure about the Lime and coconut creation, partly because of my concern from hearing the song about such a concoction many years ago, but I suspect it's probably fine. There are some really good ideas along with the recipes to create some very interesting and healthy smoothies. My only reason for only giving a 4 star rating is because the book is very short and ends rather abruptly after the recipe section. I still enjoyed reading it, though, and I'm glad I downloaded it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super healthy smoothies June 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have noticed a few comments complaining that the recipes in this book are too sugary. The fact is, however, that what is in this book is still far more healthy than traditional modern diet. The thing that I love is the recipes in this book are absolutely delicious. I have had some fruit and/or vegetable smoothies before that honestly taste like pure battery acid, but none of the smoothies in here that I have tried are hard to drink in the slightest. The best part is that if you follow the directions in Raw is the answer you will lose weight in only thirty days. Whether you have a lot of weight to lose or just want to drop a couple pounds, this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Smoothie Recipes March 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Yum! I just picked up this Green smoothie book and love it. Recently I've been on a green smoothie kick and this came at just the right time as I have been getting bored with my usual recipes. There are some great recipes that combine fruit and greens which I haven't tried yet but look delicious. I have been using green smoothies as part of my weight loss journey and they have been working well especially with a great workout program like I found in another book I picked up The Ultimate Fat Loss Secret I have already lost 5 pounds combining this program with green smoothies. It's a great combination. Thanks for the great book!

2.0 out of 5 stars Good recipes, bad writing July 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book has some great recipes in it, good advice, and a few tips. It is a very basic introduction to green smoothie making. However, when actually reading through the introductions and descriptions at the beginning of the book, it is obvious that not even the authors attempted to proofread this book. There are so many errors that it became a little difficult for me read, so I ended up just perusing until I got to the recipes.

2.0 out of 5 stars too much sugar June 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I feel most of these recipes have too much sugar. The first recipe has 3 oranges banana and apple. Those total 89 grams sugar! Wow! And there more ingredients. Divide grams by 4 to get teaspoons. 24 teaspoons of sugar with just the fruit. I dont know if the "raw" benefit pays offnfor these.

3.0 out of 5 stars needed directions for each smoothie. May 31, 2014
By Jackie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The recipes were missing directions for prepping the fruits and veggies for blending. For example, do you peel or pit the various fruits used?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes
Loved it. It has a wide variety of recipes. The only thing I wish was different was that the recipes were in seasonal order. Or at least categorized by season.
