5.0 out of 5 stars Relevant truths for today's belabored consumer, May 3, 2008
This review is from: The Raw Truth About Milk (Paperback)
Dr. Douglas in a thorough and scientific manner has exposed the milk industry as the big money liars they are. In a intellegent and humorous way, Douglas has told the story behind the history of pasturized milk and all the potential diseases that it has caused.Raw milk is an natural resource available only to a few in this country. Perhaps with the help of men like Dr. Douglas this valuable food can again be available to the general public.

I have never read such a revealing book as this. It's accurate,
humorous, and most of all reveals the truth about big dairy
associations and their 'dirty' production methods. A must read
for anyone interested in their own and that of their families' health.

5.0 out of 5 stars a MUST have for all personal libraries, February 24, 2009
This review is from: The Raw Truth About Milk (Paperback)
ever wonder how the pasturized milk movement began?
Did you know that pasturized milk is just a coverup for a bad problem? rather then make the producers of milk provide good clean milk, they adulterate the product (by heat) which kills all beneficial enzymes and nutrients providing a poor product that is hard to digest, which is why most people are now lactose intolerant. Well, guess what, i was one of those people, i looked for months for a good source of raw grass fed only cow milk, and have had no problem whatsoever drinking and digesting it. Further, most of the digestion & gas problems i had, disappeared.

you really need to get this book and read the historical information for yourself and make up your own mind about raw vs pasturized milk.

This review is from: The Raw Truth About Milk (Paperback)
This book has plenty of pretty interesting and thought provoking information about milk but some of the claims made are also pretty out there as to require further substantiation which is not given. It is pretty entertaining as it is designed as an over the place hodgepodge but certain topics that I was hoping to find were not covered at all including what dairy one should consume, if at all, if only pasteurized is available to you. The information on goat milk versus cow milk is also relatively incomplete and the book lacks much information concerning milk and auto-immunity and information concerning lactose digestion. The style also gives the impression that this guy is a snake oil salesman even though I agree with most of what he says. Maybe part of it is that I don't think he's funny and got tired pretty quickly of all his footnotes which were nothing more than insults at the government. William Douglas is certainly a character as, in addition to supporting raw milk, he also supports tobacco smoking.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's much more than a book about milk, March 10, 2011

This review is from: The Raw Truth About Milk (Paperback)
William Campbell Douglass II M.D. has a writing style that is captivating. He mixes facts with just the right amount of light humor to keep your interest. When I decided to read Doctor Douglass's book, "THE RAW TRUTH ABOUT MILK" I had already formed some false opinions about milk. Little did I realize that he was going to take me through the history of milk, some of which I have personally lived. It wasn't that I found out so much about milk that I didn't know but rather that I found out about so many myths that I thought were real. Doctor Douglass has put together a book that will stand the test of time and in fact it already has. When he presents his case for Raw Milk, he does so with facts that are impossible to refute. He even covers the spectrum from mother's milk all the way to soy milk. If you don't read another book this year, let me encourage you to read this one. I know you will be glad you did. I know I was.
