VCI Entertainment and Universal Pictures present "Rawhide Rangers" (1941) (digitally remastered), long running Johnny Mack Brown series turned out in the early '40s...our story opens with Harry Cording and his henchman spreading terror in the territory....the leader is the upstanding citizen Ed Cassidy, who wants to form his own law over the Rangers...this is where our hero Johnny Mack Brown comes in, after his brother Riley Hill is killed in a stage holdup...Johnny Mack quits the Rangers and becomes an outlaw, trying to get in good with Cording Gange and find out who's the big boss...Nell O'Day proves once and for all she's the best horsewomen on the Universal lot, with Kathryn Adams as the love interest for Johnny Mack Brown...Fuzzy Knight and Chester Gan go back and forth about pies, doughnuts and cookies, great poker game that ends up with a big belly laugh...Fuzzy and the Texas Rangers musicians bring on the songs and give this oater some musical etchings...just wait until the final scene with all the suspense of a trap that is being set and Johnny Mack is the bait....just remember double thrills, chills, mystery and suspense...hitting the bull's eye with excitement...don't miss any of Johnny Mack Brown's Double Features loaded with action that will leave you wanting more of his B-Western adventures.
