Decided to check these guys out and was not dissapointed. If you like Sharon Jones and the Daptones, I think you'll really groove on these guys. They are not imitators, they got their own unique groove.... and it is pretty raw. Check it out.

The pure funk that comes through on The Bamboos' second album, _Rawville_, is a joyous celebration right from the first track. There's plenty of bass and Fender to earn their street cred, and they have a keen sense of rhythm and how to keep a party going. So whether you prefer Alice Russell's earthy vocals on "Bring It Home" or the Ohmega Watts' straight-up hip-hop of "Get in the Scene," the album as plenty to offer everyone. The uplifting romance of "I Don't Wanna Stop" is followed by the more realistic and slightly less romantic "Head in the Clouds." The refreshingly retro rhyming on "Rockin' It" has a nice party vibe. If you notice your next gathering losing energy, you know the record to reach for.
