Too Small for Men,
By Powerman (NY) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ray-Ban Men's RB3030 Aviator Outdoorsman Sunglasses (Eyewear)
This was to replace a pair of Ray Ban Outdoorsman Aviators that I have had for 15 years. I thought that they looked the same, and didn't realize that some are smaller than others. In this case, the actual size is not stated anywhere in the description. The glasses are too small for men, and the ear pieces will hurt your ears. If you are a child or a woman with a small head, these are very high quality good sunglasses. The next time I spend $100+ for a set of sunglasses, it will be over the counter at a sporting goods store, even if it costs a little more. At least I'll know exactly what I am buying.

I have used Ray Ban Outdoorsman Sunglasses w/ cable temples for 20 years. I have never had a problem with them, although I have lost many pairs. The glasses are comfortable to wear and the cable fits nicely around my ears allowing me to engage in outdoor activity without their falling off. This was a good purchase through an Amazon vendor.

Glasses were as stated but were quite smaller than the original ones I own. I returned them to the seller because they are too small for large face individuals.

I love these glasses. The wire temples hold them securely and being a child of the 80's, they remind me of the how cool it was to grow up during that time.

If your glasses spend more time slipping down your nose than staying put, consider these glasses. Seems like whether they are expensive, cheap, or anything inbetween, sunglasses slip down my nose. Some worse than others. Living in Arizona makes sunglasses a natural accessory whether driving, walking the dog, or hiking through the cool pines and having to constantly readjust eyewear is distracting and downright annoying. The original outdoorsman by Ray Ban makes it easy to keep your eyes protected and free your hands for other tasks. Also, when doing dirty jobs like yard work, gardening, etc. you don't have to take a dirty finger to the bridge of your glasses, and forehead, to keep them from slipping off. The Ray Ban lenses are optically correct and have a very nice way of cutting sun but preserving the natural look of things.I have done a little bending adjustment on the left side arm for a more comfortable fit. No directions for this, just start tweaking the arm to ease up on any pressure causing a sore area behind your ears. I started at the bend area, wore them a while, and as neccessary readjusted. It took several times to get it right and the glasses have a great 'memory' so don't get frustrated if one days adjustment is gone the next, just do it again or perhaps work your way up the arm just a bit.

Hi. I'm an American expat writer living in Thailand where most Westerners drive motorcycles day in and day out and it's so warm that one can swim everyday of the year. In Thailand we can get Rayban copies for $3.50 a pair at most of the local markets. But it's a matter of life and death here in the Land of Smiles driving a motorbike looking for the next story or character and these Chinese made Rayban knockoffs don't cut it even if they look cool and have Rayban inscribed into their lenses. These either have plastic lenses that scratch easily or they are made of glass that breaks the first time they fall to the ground. The little screws holding the temples on the Chinese look a likes are also prone to coming out and then you must throw the cheap copies away. I've never had a lens on a pair of genuine Rayban Aviators or outdoorsman break. The screws in a pair of Outdoorsman or Aviators are meant to be replaced while the general construction of these sunglasses allows them to take a lot of abuse. But a real pair of Outdoorman-at $100 a pair costs nearly 30 times as much as the copies so it doesn't make sense to spend this much even if it's the real deal, does it? Wrong. Most people who drive motorbikes here sooner or later have at least one serious accident so the single most important advantage to paying so much more is that you really do see a lot better through them. And that translates into greater longevity. I don't know what Rayban does but I think they coat the lenses and this causes the image to be significantly sharper and to have much better contrast. This is extremely important when you are driving a motorbike, especially when the people all around you drive as insanely as they do here. What also separates the Outsdoorman from so many sunglasses, and this includes many Aviator models as well, are the cable temples that go around your ears. These glasses will stay on and that makes a huge difference when you are driving a motorbike, snow skiing or participating in other activities that can easily cause a pair of sunglasses to slip off. Welcome to the Fun House
