Knockoffs, Fakes, Counterfeits
on June 9, 2013
Taking a chance that the previous warnings about these Ray-Bans being fakes, I purchased them "Ships from and sold by Amazon," in the belief I'd be safer. So wrong! Unboxing the sunglasses, the packaging is correct and flawless as one might expect from well executed counterfeits. However, the immediate signs that these Ray-Bans were knockoffs are demonstrated in the lack of two polished hinge pins on the arms. These pins come before the logo, and the logo which should have been inlayed flush to the arms were simply glued on plastic pieces: another sign of forgery. It's a shame that Amazon is selling these. I agree with the recommendation that anyone interested in a pair of these sunglasses should purchase directly from Ray-Ban. They are well worth it, and I was being frugal by purchasing through Amazon. Yeah, it's a pity.
