Love my RayBans, April 7, 2011
This review is from: Ray-Ban RB8302 Sunglasses (Eyewear)
I chose the 8302s because they have an aviator look to them, but with a more squared geometry. Aviators have all but become a cliche in my opinion, and these do a good job of blending the classic aviator look with squared modern lines. After hunting for these locally (without success), I made the plunge and ordered them online. I had never tried them on before, so I was a little worried they might be too big, too small, or not fit right. To my delight, they fit perfectly. I've tried on friends' RayBans and some lean forward too much, are much too big on my face, or the temple piece is too short. I'm very pleased with these sunglasses.
I selected the 8302-03 model: black frame and "grey/green" polarized lens. I was a little worried that the lenses would be too green, but they're much, much closer to neutral grey than green once you put them on. From the front, they appear to have no tint whatsoever. These sunglasses are part of RayBan's "TECH" series, and as such, they represent some of the best eyewear RayBan has to offer. They came in a very attractive black box wrapped with a pseudo carbon-fibre design. Inside you'll find a nice pamphlet detailing the features of the carbon fibre collection, along with a cleaning cloth (also sporting a carbon fibre design). The cloth is much larger than other RayBan cloths--a welcome feature. The included sunglasses case is what you'd expect from RayBan, the only difference is that this one is wrapped in the woven carbon-fibre design again.
Optically, the 8302s are among the best I've used. The lenses are of the "P3 plus" designation, meaning they're comprised of crystal glass. The polarization is a feature I can't do without and the polarization of each lens seems to be pretty tightly aligned with the other. In fact, a previous pair of RayBans I had seemed to be slightly off. They would also create some rainbowing when looking at certain surfaces. The 8302s are dead on and I've yet to notice any rainbowing whatsoever.
Carbon-fibre is, of course, known for its high strength-to-weight ratio. RayBan's use of this technology really cuts down on the weight. They feel much lighter than my old RayBans, and significantly lighter than a smaller pair of Oakleys. The temple pieces are made of 7 layers of carbon-fibre and look great. I also love how I can wear these for hours without feeling any pressure behind my ears. Their weight also reduces pressure on my nose, so they're very comfortable.
All in all, I love these sunglasses. They could use slightly more curve around the face, but it's nothing worth worrying about. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my cousin who lives in Guangzhou, China. He likes the functionality and style of this pair of glasses and uses it almost everyday.

Amazing shades, March 2, 2010
They're not the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for.
I've had Oakleys in the past and they're good but these RayBans just blow them out of the water.
Lightweight, great quality and highly recommended.
