One Great Video,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ray of Light [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Directed by Jonas Akerlund <previously directed Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" clip>. Filmed on location in Los Angeles and New York City. Features Madonna in black, dancing in front of time-lapsed photography of everything imaginable. Later, Madonna is in a tank top in a disco busting a move with other club-kids. This video won many honors, including MTV Video and Grammy awards. Madonna cowrote/coproduced the song with William Orbit. Running time: app. 5 min. RATED: PG <some guidance suggested due to Madonna's gyrations and pelvic thrusts while dancing, plus the visibility of her nipples through her tank top>"Quicker than a ray of light..."

RAY OF LIGHT is a Breath of Fresh Air.,

Sometimes a reviewer can forget he or she is reviewing the product and not the performer or even the song. That said, for the utilitarian consumer, purchasing the RAY OF LIGHT video single is arguably pointless. Madonna's VIDEO COLLECTION '93-'99 features "Ray of Light" and it is available on DVD and VHS. However, unlike the JUSTIFY MY LOVE video single (which was the only way to obtain that video in a commercial format), the RAY OF LIGHT video single is a great novelty. Madonna has recaptured the adoration of the public with the album of the same name, and it is clear she wanted to pull out all the stops, including video singles, limited-edition satin-covered digipaks and remix videos. It's too bad Warner didn't seize the chance to make this the first video single release on DVD. Bjork beat them to the punch. While the "Ray of Light" video has been somewhat ballyhooed (it is, after all, not the first and, certainly, not the last video to use time-lapse footage), it IS one of Madonna's most memorable videos, if only for its unveiling of Madonna's kinder, gentler public image.

I bought this video when it was freshly released, I think it's very nice, whenever you want to listen to the song, why just listen? listen and watch!! and I think the price is worth it!! It's the same video we all saw on tv, nothing added...so don't believe there's an extended version or a remix of it included in this video release...if you are interested, BUY IT NOW..if you don't like the song or Madonna, then I think you shouldn't.

...for a limited edition, the packaging is beyond LOUSY. And if this was a limited edition, why are they still available?! Anyway, the actual video clip is cool (as most of you have seen it), but if you want to own it go get the video collection 93-99 which is only like 10 dollars more and you get 13 other great videos!!

If you like Madonna or are just a plain fan of music videos, be sure to pick up this music video. Even the select few who do not care for Madonna will bw blown away by this 1998 video. If you wish to see this and plenty other 90s Madonna songs, pick up her new compliation video wish also features Ray Of Light. For the collectors, this is a 'Must have"!

What Madonna fan can pass up one of her videos? This is just another example of the Goddess of Pop giving another shining example of her creativity. A must have for all Madonna fans.
