Ok, so this is a garden hose. Big deal, a hose is a hose, right? Well, in this case it's not. I've always thought that screwing nozzles on and off my garden hose was a real pain, and don't even get me started on trying to get the hose on and off my pressure washer. I noticed that this hose was different. There are no threads on the ends. If you're familiar with air hose fittings, this is the same idea in plastic. If you buy this, you have to realize that you are switching your connection system from threads to a Quick Klick system. It does not screw onto your hose bib.

Pros:
1. Really, really light weight. I was amazed, you could carry this thing around with one finger.
2. Very small and compact, super easy to store.
3. Can roll out a little bit at a time and the hose works fine
4. The click fittings make hooking attachments up to the hose quick and easy.

Cons:
1. YOU MUST BUY THE "QUICK KLICK" ADAPTERS, otherwise you can't hook the hose up to your hose bib. This is not really a con, unless you were thinking of just buying the hose and hooking it up. The real con is that at the time of this writing, Amazon does not sell the adapters. I had to get them from Meijers.com ($3.95). Buy multiple sets -- one for each of your attachments (wand, sprayer, pressure washer, etc.), I bought 3 sets and should have bought a couple more. The fittings screw into your existing threaded hoses, hose bibs or attachments.

2. It would have been nice if there was a little handle or something on the reel to make it just a easier to rewind. However, it's not that inconvenient considering how small and light this is.

3. No instructions.

I bought a flat garden hose almost 7 or 8 years ago. Was the best hose I ever had to work with. When the fittings started leaking, the holder was cracked and breaking from me dropping it a few times, it was time to find a new one. I had hoped to find the same one I bought before, but couldn't find it online or in the stores. I decided to try this one. Like other reviews noted, you need to get the snap on adapters, I picked them up from a local True Value hardware store to save the shipping fees.

Another reviewer mentioned that the pressure was poor, and that is very true. Watering takes much longer than it did and I really don't need the sprinkler part on this gadget, it makes it a little more cumbersome to carry.

My last hose didn't have a pressure problem, I can only figure from looking at this that they've split the hose into two channels instead of just letting it be a flat hose. I don't get it, and I don't like it. Why there aren't more flat hoses that reel in easy are a mystery.

It's a flat easy roll up hose, and that's what I wanted, it looks a lot better than those large roll up hoses and takes up no space. It's not worth what you pay for, but there obviously isn't much of a demand for it, or I wouldn't have to settle for this. So this is a settled for, but not happy with the price, and it will do.

THIS IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT THE ONLY FLAT HOSE ON THE MARKET YOU DON'T HAVE TO UNREEL TO USE. I found a near identical design at my local Lowes at a similar price (less shipping!) that was clearly from another manufacturer, AND I didn't need to buy adapters... also it came with a hand sprayer not a sprinkler.

I am not happy to say I wasted $43 on this (after shipping).

It arrived promptly, but DOES NOT come with adapters (an additional $3-10 minimum). Nor are the Ray Padula brand adapters available on Amazon or much of anywhere from what I can tell. My nearest vender was 650 miles away, the next closest was more that 1200 miles and no-one sells them online for less than $20(after shipping) you can use the Gilmour brand (ACE QUICK COUPLER STARTER SET), and I suspect most any other brand of PLASTIC couplers. Do not get the brass ones, they are too big.

Ray Padula's website appears to be very helpful, until you try to "Buy it now"... this takes you to a page of pictures (some links) of their 'vendors' most of whom don't seem to carry any of their products, and if they do they won't sell them online.

I got to use this hose for all of about 20 minutes. Here's what I experienced:

It has very low pressure output even on a very high pressure spigot, and would only be good for watering about a 6-8' diameter patch at a time.

The sprinkler does not come off of the reel

I hooked a hand sprayer to the hose and after about a minute with the sprayer turned off the hose blew out. Now I'm deciding if I want to try and Rube Goldberg it back together, throw it out or burn it in effigy.

Thanks Ray, you can be sure I will never buy one of your products again.

This is just what I wanted for my now-senior mother. It is light enough that she can handle the whole reel and flexible enough that she doesn't have to fight with it like she did with a vinyl hose. I'm not thrilled about the sprinkler part and will just set it up for hose duty.
