Leaked at the end of the season; lack of customer service.,

This review is from: Ray Padula RP-SRSP 8-Pattern Series R Advanced Functionality Hose Nozzle (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this product in June/July of 2009 based on its lifetime satisfaction guarantee and it's easy turn on/off function for my parents. Functionally speaking, it was quite easy to adjust the spray nozzle and use the on/off switch on this product. However, at the end of the season it began to leak all over the person holding the spray. We took good care of this product, did not leave it on the garden floor and always hung it back up with the hose when finished with. I will give their customer service line a call now and see what they can do for me! Disappointing that this product did not live up to my expectations as desired. Aside from this leakage problem, I would have given this nozzle a perfect score.UPDATE 5/3/2010: Terrible customer service! First, I phoned them at the number provided on their website and left a message. No one called me back. So the following week I emailed them (at the address provided on the website) and they responded 2 days later saying they would replace it. The e-mail was nice/professional. They provided me with a tracking number and said I would received it a couple of days later. It has been almost 3 weeks and I still never received it! I have e-mailed them about 3 or 4 times already, very politely wondering where it was, and mentioning the the UPS tracking no. said it was not received by UPS yet. No response. I am very put off by their lack of communication. I will never buy from them again!

I originally loved this sprinkler head but it started leaking within 2 months of use and I treated it with kid gloves. I tried a new washer to control the leak between the hose and the attaching end to no avail. I even got a new hose but it still leaks like crazy so I can not use it without getting totally drenched. I am very disappointed with this product and would not recommend it to anyone!!! :~(

Non existent customer service,

Nozzle lever broke within one season. You can't call them as their published number rolls into a "mailbox full" recording. Emails go unanswered. I would not buy a another product from this company.

I'm very pleased with this nozzle for several reasons, particularly the ease of selecting patterns, but there is one thing that keeps it from being perfect. That has to do with the on/off lever.I live on a farm and because of my well, I have to water by hand. Holding a trigger nozzle for a long time can be very hard on my hands as I have some arthritis. Also sometimes I like to leave the hose running in the garden while I do some weeding or pick produce. With a normal trigger nozzle that isn't always possible. Some will let you set a latch to keep the nozzle open, but on the one I was using that made the water come out too harshly. With this nozzle you can set the force of the water with the little green adjuster and it will stay that way until I change it. I really like that, and like that this nozzle's shape lets me hook the nozzle over the edge of my raised garden or fence so it stays where I put it. The thing I don't like is that my hands are not big enough to change the water force one-handed. I expect to use two hands when I'm changing the type of spray, but do expect to be able to turn the water flow on/off and modify the intensity one-handed. I don't have small hands (wear a woman's size 8 glove) but can't really reach the adjustment lever easily while holding the handle. Still I bought a second one of these nozzles because of another feature and just grumble over the awkward off/on. The 'full' setting is right next to the 'shower' setting. These are two patterns I use most and it's awfully nice to be able to switch between them so easily. I have one of the straighter versions of this nozzle as well and find this style easier to use for watering hanging flower baskets and to hook over the fence for easy retrieval. The other is fine for watering things at a distance, but I find this style more versatile. All in all, even though I'm not crazy about manipulating the on/off lever, I like the nozzle enough to replace my others with this type. I'll be interested to see how it winters. The Orbit nozzle I greatly loved last year didn't winter well. Even the one I put in the garage out of freezing weather and unused through the winter ended up leaking this summer and had to be replaced. Hope this one fares better. So far, no leaks at all, easy turning pattern selector, no stiff trigger to hold for long watering sessions. Highly recommended especially for those with big enough hands to manage the water flow trigger one-handed.

I would love to give this item a 5 star review; I love it and the way it functions EXCEPT (and this is a big one for me), of the 8 watering pattern options, none of them is "soaker". I have a lot of container plants and also bird-baths to fill; a soaker is perfect for that.I have had many similar nozzles over the years and have never seen one that did not have a soaker option. When I saw that this nozzle had 8 possibilities, it never occurred to me that it would not include a soaker option. This is such a disappointment, as everything else about the nozzle is excellent. And here I bought two of them,, as well as a close cousin, on this purchase! Now I am stuck with 3 nozzles that are missing the watering pattern I most want. Guess I will have to make my next purchase in a B&M so that I can ensure it has this important feature. Such a shame to design a product so well and to omit this most needed feature.

Best nozzle I've had, so far,
This review is from: Ray Padula RP-SRSP 8-Pattern Series R Advanced Functionality Hose Nozzle (Lawn & Patio)
I see all these negative reviews and I'm not sure if I just got lucky or the other reviewers aren't representative, but I love my Padula nozzle. After years of buying crappy (but expensive) nozzles at OSH and having them start to leak or clog, some almost immediately, I bought this Padula at a local nursery, and it's been great. It's got a very full mist pattern (the pattern I use most, because most of my plants are already on a timed drip system), the flow rate is very easy to adjust (much easier than with a trigger), and it still looks as good as the day I bought it. In performance and appearance, this is the best nozzle I've ever had. Perhaps I'll grow to hate it like the other people here, but so far it seems like a keeper. One thing I do, which is perhaps not typical, is that after I turn the water off at the hose bib, I continue watering to release the pressure on the nozzle. I've always done this, though, and my other nozzles have all crapped out pretty rapidly, often leaving me wetter than my plants. So far, for me, the Padula has been absolutely perfect.

Used it, abused it, it keeps on working,

I LOVE this Ray Padula hose nozzle. The sliding on/off is wonderful-no more holding down a handle. I have abused the heck out of this nozzle in my 10000 square foot garden and it just keeps on going. Not a single problem.

Where the nozzle attached to the hose broke off when trying to take it off the hose. I really had high hopes for this product based on it media hype. Oh well. Back to the cheap china made crap. At least I know it only lasts one season.
