4.0 out of 5 stars Finally a good game where kids and adults can play together.
Looking for a game where kids and adults can play together and actually enjoy playing? Well, Rayman Arena is a great option for the xbox platform.

pros:
+ up to 8 different characters (and different skins for them too!)
+ 4 main game modes: racing, battle, freeze them all and time attack
+ 2 levels of difficulty: beginner and pro
+ immediate hands on...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Game Ever
This game is the worst game I've played for Xbox. This game just ruined the feel of adventure games. This is why I give this game 1 star.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally a good game where kids and adults can play together., April 7, 2003
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
Looking for a game where kids and adults can play together and actually enjoy playing? Well, Rayman Arena is a great option for the xbox platform.

pros:
+ up to 8 different characters (and different skins for them too!)
+ 4 main game modes: racing, battle, freeze them all and time attack
+ 2 levels of difficulty: beginner and pro
+ immediate hands on action (no training mode - learning curve is super fast)
+ great looking graphics and great sound too
+ is an unexpensive game
+ single player or up to 4 players (multiplayer mode, split screen)
+ great option for fun on a family or friends reunion [multiplayer is what'll make this game worth it on a long run]

cons:
+ camera angles may not be to easy to control in battle or freeze modes
+ pro level may be too hard
+ if you an experienced gamer and single player is only what you are looking for, you'll be dissapointed as you'll be able to finish the game sooner than many other games

So, if you are looking for a game that can keep you and your friends/family playing over and over again, then Rayman Arena may be the right title for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game for children, June 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
I've got 30+ xbox games that cost twice this games price. My six and eight year old boys have been playing this everyday for the last 4 weeks. They love it. Rayman Arena is an excellent one player or multiplayer game. We also have Rayman 3. It is also an excellent game for children. However, Rayman 3 is only one player but as my eight year old says "it is still fun to play."

My six year old says of Rayman Areana : "It's fun." Both Rayman's are highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tons of FUN with lots of NEAT tracks..., April 3, 2003
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
This game is a blast. In the 'RACE' mode(TWO PLAYERS) there are around 12 tracks and 9 characters with dozens of short cuts, jumps and slides already unlocked and ready for action. With the split screen there's NOT a lick of slowdown and the tracks are very challenging and complex(not too complexed for my 4 year old though). I have to beg my kids to let me play it because they are hopelessly addicted to this game. HOWEVER, the 'BATTLE' mode has two serious flaws. ONE: You only play against one other apponent at a time(computer, but up to 3 friends). That's just not enough mayhem for my liking. However, we only played 'BATTLE' mode one time so I could be wrong about that. TWO: The camera does NOT follow you so if the apponent isn't in your direct line of fire(which he hardly ever is) it's very hard to find him. That was a dissapointment because it seemed I was doing more looking behind me than shoting at my apponent. So I said to my kids, "Let's try the 'RACE' mode" and they haven't even mentioned the 'BATTLE' mode since. It's been a week now and they've never looked back. Seriously, the 'RACE' mode, alone, is worth the money and that's why I still give it a 5 out of 5. It may not be for everyone, but I believe your kids will love it. There isn't any cursing or naked women in it and that helps me to love it. Oh yeah, and it's fun too!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Family Game, January 7, 2003
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
I love Rayman Arena. I am a 35 year old Mom and I have played this game with my kids (7 and 8), my Husband and neighbors. We race and battle each other and the good clean competition leaves us all laughing and smiling afterwards. I highly recommend this game as the fun is for both kids and adults. If you are looking for a shoot-em-up game, look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rayman is back!, May 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
As an 11-year-old, in 1999, I got Rayman for PS1, 2000 was Rayman 2 PC, 2002 was Rayman Arena PC, 2003 was Rayman 3 GCN. Now in January 2005, I get the Xbox version. The PC and console versions have their differences. The thing that stores items changed. The hit points thing changed. But the Xbox version has more including a new special item(with the gold colored item storer) which a new one includes a firewall-like item. A bad thing was no single-player 4 character battles! That was something I REALLY liked. But at least it's replaced with a Master mode after passing Beginner and Pro. The Master mode is featuring Dark Rayman since his last appearence was in Candy Chateau, the last level, of Rayman 1. In Rayman 1, he imitated your every move and was only a few steps away. Touch him, you die in that game. He could only be defeated through winning the level. Here, he changes as he doesn't follow you around. Buy it, have fun!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids and parents, February 2, 2003
This review is from: Rayman Arena Xbox (Video Game)
I disagree totally with the first two reviews posted that state Rayman Arena is a horrible game. My six year old and myself have had hours of fun playing this. The only problem is that he is now beating me more than I am beating him! The Freeze battle mode is especially fun. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a good family type game. You also can't beat the price! I guess that is the one positive about the poor reviews.

Rayman is fun. I like to do all the tricks with Rayman like swinging from the rings, skating on ice, and jumping. I also like to race my brother. He is 7.
