So I think they are still making a profit with this item (unfortunately).

You may get one that will work for a while and if you are very careful it may last for a while.

With the battery in you will not be able to screw the cap on, it pops off.

I guess you get what you pay for. When this arrived, I installed the battery and it turned on (it was fairly bright) but it flickered on and off. When I looked inside I saw that the piece of metal that makes the contact was broken and barely staying in place. These metal contact pieces appeared very weak and prone to break. This appears to be built with very cheap parts and mine arrived broken already. You may get one that will work for a while and if you are very careful it may last for a while. Good luck.

I bought a couple of these from Walmart for 3.50 each. I thought it was a steal at the time, until I turned them on.

You might be wondering; if 6 volt batteries go for 4-7 dollars, how can they sell this lantern for so cheap?
Well, the lanterns themselves probably consist of 2 dollars worth of plastic, rubber, metal, and incandescent bulbs. The 6 volt battery supplied is half the weight of regular 6v batteries. So I think they are still making a profit with this item (unfortunately).

The lighting is horrible. After a couple minutes of use, they were no brighter than a 2-AA light I bought from a dollar store. The lumen rating on the packaging is simply false.
Both of mine had problems with staying on, you have to screw them on a certain way, then duct tape the lid to prevent the leads from disconnecting.

I bought two of these, so no, I didn't get a faulty one. They were both just that awful.

I don't care that they were cheap; deceit is deceit. Disregard the information on the packaging, and if you see these with a big "Only 3.50!" sign, keep walking.

I have purchased 4 of these lanterns, 2 of which never worked from the start, and 2 which broke within a week. Will never purchase again.

For this price, I can't complain TOO much, since it gives off a bright light and is easy to hold. But the button on top is hard to press. Keep in mind that the batteries alone cost $5 or so each, so the real test will be how long the batteries last on this flashlight.

Well, all i can say that is good here is that i received a working Battery. The flashlight itself is a joke.
