1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of so-called recharegeable "D" batteries, December 7, 2007
Be careful when shopping for rechargeable batteries! The Rayovac (and Energizer) products have the same Amp-Hour capacity as a "AA" battery! Do a little web searching and you'll find the Energizer is really an AA-sized cell in a "D" package - but sells for much more! I can't speak to the inner construction of the Rayovac, but it has a capcity of 2200 mAh -- definitely in the AA range (in fact, somewhat low for a good rechargeable AA these days). If you want the power capacity that a "D" size package should give you, look elsewhere -- the capacity should be in the 10,000+ mAh range.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rated Power Too Low!, December 27, 2005

This review is from: Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack) (Health and Beauty)
This is the kind of power rating (2200 mah) that would be pretty good for a AA battery, but way to low for a D cell. At all-battery.com you get two 9000 mah batteries for 12.99. Rayovac is a good old name, and these aren't bad batteries. But, you'll get longer use with a higher rated battery.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2200 mAh is very low for D cell, January 1, 2006
This review is from: Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack) (Health and Beauty)
for that power rating I would rather use AA cells rated higher with some old snap in D cell converters I have from an old NiCad set.

2200 is very low for a d-cell
