4.0 out of 5 stars BabyToys
The batteries were packed well and received quickly.

These are great to use on baby toys (as well as your big kid toys)... just buy an extra set so you can always have a set charging while the other is in the toy.

The only reason I mention that is because the batteries do run down kind of quickly, and take up to 8 hours to fully charge...

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of so-called recharegeable "D" batteries
Be careful when shopping for rechargeable batteries! The Rayovac (and Energizer) products have the same Amp-Hour capacity as a "AA" battery! Do a little web searching and you'll find the Energizer is really an AA-sized cell in a "D" package - but sells for much more! I can't speak to the inner construction of the Rayovac, but it has a capcity of 2200 mAh -- definitely...

Do a little web searching and you'll find the Energizer is really an AA-sized cell in a "D" package - but sells for much more! I can't speak to the inner construction of the Rayovac, but it has a capcity of 2200 mAh -- definitely in the AA range (in fact, somewhat low for a good rechargeable AA these days). If you want the power capacity that a "D" size package should give you, look elsewhere -- the capacity should be in the 10,000+ mAh range.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rated Power Too Low!, December 27, 2005

This is the kind of power rating (2200 mah) that would be pretty good for a AA battery, but way to low for a D cell. At all-battery.com you get two 9000 mah batteries for 12.99. Rayovac is a good old name, and these aren't bad batteries. But, you'll get longer use with a higher rated battery.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2200 mAh is very low for D cell, January 1, 2006
This review is from: Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack) (Health and Beauty)
for that power rating I would rather use AA cells rated higher with some old snap in D cell converters I have from an old NiCad set.

2200 is very low for a d-cell

1.0 out of 5 stars These are AA batteries in a D sized case, February 10, 2006

Don't get fooled like I did. It turns out that a real D NiMH cell should store 7500-10000 mAh.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very low power., January 18, 2006
This review is from: Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack) (Health and Beauty)
The AA that you can get have a mah rating of 2500. The D battery should have at least 3 times that much. These are old and while they may be good batteries, they won't give you power very long.

This is a AA battery in a D size case. It will last less than half the time of a "real" D size NiMH cell. The power available from a battery is indicated by the mAH rating, with more being better. The price of this item looks good until you realize you are paying for a D cell and getting AA performance.

I bought these batteries to use with my Sirius boombox and they will power the unit for only about an hour or so before the unit shuts off.

1.0 out of 5 stars A "AA" battery in a "D" Case, October 19, 2008

These Ray-o-Vacs are really just a "AA" battery in a "D" case. Paul L.'s review is exactly on the money. I've seen a website that has a picture of this battery sawn in half, and it's obviously just a double AA inside. The battery itself is palpably far lighter than a regular D-cell. When I put these batteries into a flashlight with regular D-cells, they only last about a quarter of the time; it seems like I have to open the flashlight and replace them every time I use it. If you're camping, that just renders the flashlight almost useless.

Look at the rated capacity of the battery. A decent D-cell should have 5000maH capacity; a good one, 10000maH. These only have 2500maH.

These batteries only lasted in the baby's swing for 2 days. I bought some good rechargeables that last a couple of weeks at a time and use these only to hold me over while the good ones are charging.
