Worthless gimmick product,

Got a set of these lights as a gift. Like most gimmick products, these lights are worthless. They worked a little when we first had them, and even then they gave off a very dim light that didn't last very long. Now after 8 months, they don't work at all no matter how long you shake them. Worthless, we just threw them in the trash 5 minutes ago.

I bought some of this and not satisfied any. The light come out very weak, you will get tired soon with shaking it.
Better to buy the wind-up type, it will have stronger light and save your energy.

Great for Emergencies,

These are the perfect flashlights to have for emergencies. You never need to worry about having fresh batteries on hand or forgetting to change the batteries only to find out that the batteries leaked and ruined your flashlight. These Faraday Lights never need batteries. All you have to do is shake them for a couple of minutes to charge 'em up. Another big plus is that it uses an LED so there are no light bulbs to replace.
While the larger flashlight is waterproof, the small one is not. Also, the small one only has a momentary push button switch. You must keep pressing the button to keep it lit. The larger flashlight has a push on/push off switch. Granted, the light output is not nearly as bright as a traditional flashlight, but it's bright enough to light your way through a darkened room so that you won't be stubbing your toes or tripping over anything. I used to have a battery powered flashlight in my car but I would never remember to replace the batteries. One day when I really needed it, the batteries were dead and I was out of luck. Now I keep one of these Faraday Lights in my car and I know I'll always have a light. When buying a shake light, beware of cheap knockoffs. There are some shake lights out there that are fakes. The fake shake lights are made to look like the real thing but in reality they're powered by button cell batteries. The wire coil is in fact not connected to anything and instead of having a sliding magnet, it's just a plain non-magnetic metal slug. Sometimes even a retailer may be unaware that the shake lights they're selling are fakes. So the best way to avoid buying a fake is to buy one made by a reputable manufacturer.
