I ordered these little speakers yesterday and got them today when I asked for two day shipping! I was ecstatic to say the least. I had been planning to buy these for months from the actual razerstore website but when I had tried the site was having an error so I came here and I'm so pleased that I did. The product is amazing. I'm a gamer, maybe not a hardcore shoot'em up gamer but I'm still a gamer and I've been slowly buying razer for looks and function. I love the way these speakers look and they function just fine now that I've read through some of the other reviews. I popped open the packaging and skim read the little foldout book they give you on how to hook up and what the colored lights are at the bottom of the speakers [which I didn't know where there until I bought them]. I hooked up the mini USB's to both speakers and then hooked up the jack and USB to my keyboard's little opens. I put on some music with a little base and let them loose only to be severely disappointed at first.
One speaker would work wonderfully and the other one would produce this shrill shriek of a noise that killed my ears. Unplugging it from the mini USB and just using the one speaker would kill the noise but the sound was severely reduced. I tried switching the speakers, changing the location, etc... and nothing seemed to fix it. So I went off in search of other people with my problem and wound up here. I read through more and more of the reviews and found similar problems. Then, thankfully I found a response from a Chris in California. Reading the response completely fixed everything! I had been prepared to start packing up the speakers to send them back for another pair to see if they'd be better but the problem I was having was more user error than product error.Read more ›
These speakers are amazing. They don't look like they would create enough sound like any 2.1 speaker system, but they do. I use a Sony VAIO CW computer and whenever I watch youtube videos, I turn up my sound to max and the youtube video sound to max. Whenever I hooked up these speakers, I had to turn down my volume to half and the youtube volume to around 1/3 of its bar. They are LOUD.
The aesthetics.. they look really nice. The material is really high quality, and whenever you pick them up, you can feel the slight heaviness of them. The top of the speakers open up and the razer logo is sketched on a brushed chrome aluminum.
The light on the bottom of the speakers are also very nice. Although they aren't as bright as I thought, they are good indicators of when the battery is running low.
However, a few minor things I must point out. The cord that connects the speakers is extremely short. My usb ports are on the left side of my computer and my audio jack-in is on the right side, and because of the shortness of the cord, I can't charge my speakers while using them at the same time.
Another thing, the bass is not that good relative to the mids and the highs. However, it's not that big of a deal to me.

ordered these from razer directly, but no shipping makes amazon better.
One thing that has not been made clear anywhere is that each speaker has a mini usb port, and the cable is headphone jack and usb on one side, and dual (labeled L and R) mini usb males on the other. The cable is that nice thread braid covered type. You can charge them via usb while listening, but they aren't usb speakers. they also have no volume control of their own.
they sound really great, even at max volume. Much louder than you would expect from such a small speaker.
i am not a gamer, just use these to listen to my iphone wherever.
I haven't used them enough to give a report on battery life, but it felt far less than the 13 hours, or whatever Razer claims. That said, they charge quickly.
few minor gripes: i wish i had a second cable that didn't have the usb port (for charging), as it looks messy when its not connected. Also while the mini usb wires are labeled L and R, you can't read that once you plug it in and then you can't tell which speaker is supposed to be which. I could do without Razer's gratuitous blue lights on everything they make... that seems it would only waste battery life.
These speakers are supposed to be small, with a good battery life, and better than my laptop speakers. Well, they *are* small, and they might have a good battery life (I haven't used them long enough to find out), but they are, if anything, worse than my laptop speakers. The bass is almost totally missing, and anything that does have a hard bass line, they add tons of low end distortion. These speakers, put simply, suck for sound quality unless all you want is high-notes. Volume isn't exceptional either.
I really wanted these to work, but they were quite the disappointment.

Sounds pretty good. I usually keep my sound at medium (Around 50/100) and the sound is pretty clear. Also note that this version of the ferox has blue LED. It is not the newer 2014 Model which glows Green.
