Razer Kabuto nails it,
This review is from: Razer Kabuto Mobile Mouse Mat (Black) (Personal Computers)
I have used many mousing surfaces - from Ratzpads, fUnc surface 1030, IceMat, etc. I never preferred the hard, frictionless plastic surfaces; my favorite was an inexpensive "microfiber" mat that gave that feeling of drag and eliminated "shake", but had a few issues with needing constant cleaning, had a slick bottom and needed to be taped down, and was quite small.
If you are looking for a thin, cloth pad, look no further. The Razer Kabuto is, as far as I'm aware, the first high-quality cloth gaming mouse pad. The size is just about what you'd need, although it could use another inch or two in height. However, since it is marketed as a "laptop" mousepad, I can understand why it's so skinny. The base is a patterned rubber, and while it does not glue the pad to the table, it should be enough to hold it steady on most desk surfaces. The surface itself is what you'd expect - synthetic microfiber. It's very smooth, and has some friction to it. If you are looking for a surface you mouse will glide across, this is not it. If, however, you want something that will assist you in holding your mouse still with minimal effort, such as when doing pixel-by-pixel art work, or long-distance sniping in any FPS, this is the pad for you. And at $20, you really can't go wrong.

Great for laptops! vs. The Steel Series,

This is a great mouse pad. I don't know how I got along without it. I bought a steel series laptop mouse pad which is thicker than this one by about 3-4mm. This thickness difference makes all the difference in the world in terms of portability. Like another reviewer, I put the pad between my screen and the keyboard for storage and a bit of protection. The Steel Series laptop pad makes it so the magnetic latch can't engage, which makes it awkward. The dimensions compared to the Steel Series fit my Macbook Pro 13" a lot better too. The Kabuto is wider and not as deep (another reason the magnetic latch didn't work with the steel series was that it was too deep to fit.
Also, comparing materials the Kabuto surface has less drag (it's finer woven and feel silkier). In fact the drag amount is perfect for any application. The price differential between the Steel Series and the Kabuto is about $5 at this time and it's a $5 well spent. As it is I lost my first Kubuto -- no fault of it's own, ordered a Steel series as a replacement and then reordered a replacement Kabuto. I consider the extra $35 I spent to replace the first one a learning lesson: (1) don't forget the mouse pad, and (2) buy the quality item in the first (and in my case) second place! I also use this mouse pad with a Razer Orochi, which rocks. I should have a review of that up here soon too! They're the perfect combo.

The day I got this mouse mat I instantly fell in love with it. the material is extremely soft and smooth and its extremely thin.
my only problem with the mat is that after only a week or so the portion of the mat under my palm became very rough as if the material was coming apart. It seems that all the soft material razer mouse mats come apart after usage but then again that can be due to the gamers who play intensely. In my opinion if your going to invest in a gaming mouse mat you might as well pay 10 extra dollars and get the Razer Destructor its like any other mouse mat I've ever used and you don't have to worry about the material getting damage.
