Razer Vespula

Choose the Winning Side

The dual-sided Razer Vespula gaming mouse mat provides two distinct performance surfaces — SPEED for mad fragging action for high-sensitivity gamers; and CONTROL for ultra-precise movements for low-sensitivity gamers — on a non-slip, anti-reflective and abrasion-resistant hard coat. With its unique shape and the soft gel-filled wrist rest, the Razer Vespula provides comfort and perfect tracking for any gamer.

Dual-sided mouse mat for your individual needs

Whether you prefer to gun down your enemies with the increased glide of the SPEED surface or with ultimate precision from the CONTROL surface, the Razer Vespula offers the right surface that suits your playing style.

Speed surface

Razer mouse mats that are Speed-type are incredibly smooth and flat, so it feels like your mouse is slipping quickly across the entire surface with zero hindrance. Speed-type mats suit gamers who need to hit targets faster and more efficiently.

Enhanced tracking surfaces validated by professional gamers

The Razer Vespula’s dual surfaces have been developed for enhanced tracking by the same scientists at Razer that have invented the most precise gaming mice in the world today. Professional gamers have also put the Razer Vespula through thousands of hours of intense gameplay to validate the tracking surfaces for tournament play.

Control surface

Razer mouse mats that are Control-type have rough surfaces to create a sensation of resistance to your mouse movements. This is important as the friction of the textured surface offsets the energy you exert to move the mouse, ensuring precise minute movements. Control-type mats suit gamers who need absolute precision to hit targets exactly where they need to.

Memory conformance wrist rest

The soft gel-filled wrist rest protects your wrist from injury and fatigue, allowing you to enjoy longer gaming sessions like never before.

Razer Synapse enabled

Razer Synapse is the cutting-edge proprietary software that allows you to perfectly calibrate your mouse and mouse mat. The Surface Calibration feature ensures the mouse will learn the specific surface’s texture, color, and distance from sensor ensuring even quicker and more precise in-game responses.

I received this after 3 days with free shipping to Virginia. This mouse pad was to replace my old school Steel Series 3s aluminum pad. The aluminum pads seem to have increased drag if the surrounding environment is cold or if the user fails to maintain it (clean it). It is also noisy and sometimes a weird grinding noise would come from them. Sometimes this occurs right after a clean too! I decided to try out these plastic mouse pads and I must say I am very impressed with my Razer Vespula. It is quiet and the wrist pad is thin enough to be unobtrusive during gaming in my opinion. I have a smaller desk and this mouse pad utilizes every available centimeter left. It stays firmly on my desk and it's made of weird smooth coat of paint over wood that doesn't offer much traction. The Vespula has a speed and control side. The difference is noticeable enough where it would make a difference which side you choose to use. I prefer the control side as I feel like it's slicker as opposed to smoother. Or maybe I'm using the speed side, I don't know :P. The price is a bit high BUT if you are willing to drop premium for a premium mouse pad, you will not be disappointed in the Razer Vespula.

Pros:
-No more grease/oil from skin rubbing off onto the mouse pad which seems to be a problem with metal pads.
-Choice between 2 different surfaces.
-Stays in place with or without the rubber mat.
-No noise at all under normal use. Even during fast movement, the sound is negligible.

Cons:
-Made of plastic which can break easily but I don't plan on moving my mouse pad around too often as my LAN party days are over :P.

I bought the Vespula for work since I use Photoshop a lot and require my mouse to be very precise (when I'm not using my Wacom tablet). I really like it. I also own the ExactMat for gaming at home. If I had to go back and choose between the two, I'd get the Vespula over the ExactMat. It's a little more compact but still gets the job done.

Having heard great things about Razer's products, I jumped on this since it advertized a smooth surface and had a wrist rest. I'm a fingertip grip mouser, so the wrist rest is a nice place for the heel of my palm. I mouse with high sensitivity, so having the mouse move smoothly over small distances is crucial. Sadly, the roughness of the "Speed" side gives rough and unpredictable resistance that moving small distances accurately is impossible, especially when moving the mouse from a standstill. The "Control" side allows better acceleration, but the roughness makes it feel like there's grit stuck on your mouse's feet.

I've used this for about a year since I didn't have an alternative until recently (a generic, thin cloth promotional pad from a university is my current surface). I started with my old tank of a G5, but when I replaced that with a Roccat Pyra, the mouse input would twitch out at least once every 10 minutes on either the Speed or Control side. I duplicated this with a Microsoft Intellimouse and Logitech MX518. I switched to my generic cloth pad and the issues went away.

I recently got a Razer Orochi, and was able to switch back to this pad without any tracking issues from it (tested the Pyra again, and it still has a problem). Still, the roughness of the Speed surface was amplified by the small size of the mouse, so I went back to the cloth mat after a week.

It looks good though...

Absolutely love this mat, although it should really come as no surprise that there is an improvement in performance when using a Razer mat under a Razer mouse it was a very welcomed improvement for me. Night and day difference between the fast and precise sides.

After playing hours of League of Legends and the amount of time I spend on the computer in general for college, my already bad wrists from tennis and ice skating injuries were continuing to get worse especially because I wouldn't pay attention to how my wrists were sitting, so I decided it was time for a wrist rest mouse pad. The first day was trying and I actually removed the wrist pad bottom and only used the mouse surfaces (which are amazing btw), but after I got used to it, it is definitely a lot more comfortable then having my wrist up against the wood edge of my desk during gaming. Also, my wrists haven't been bugging me as much after long hours of play.

It could also help that I am a taller person with longer hands and arms that it's more comfortable for me, but overall, it functions as I expected it to and I save my wrists some soreness after long hours of gaming. The surface is also larger than your normal mouse pad, so for large screens and middle-high dpi mouses, it means I don't accidentally go off the surface ever when I'm gaming

I'd recommend this to any gamer for playing just about any computer game and it's great for general use as well.

Overall, good mouse pad. I spent quite a bit of time searching for one that would suit my counterstrike playing needs, and this one stood out. I admit that it took a while to get used to the surfaces (I ended up preferring the more coarse surface), but it only took a day or two to feel comfortable with.

Pros:
Lots of room for mouse movement.
Choice of mouse surface texture

Cons:
Razor imprint on wrist pad rubs off soon after starting to use it.
Wrist pad is a little stiff.
