Great Ride for the Price,

I had my doubts about this scooter since it was so reasonably priced, but so far it has been a great ride. I got it for my 8 year old son to play around with on the sidewalks but discovered that it is fun for me too! My son's friend got the next level down in scooters, the E100 I think, and his is much slower. Plus he does not have the option of the seat. With the E200S, you can decide to use the seat or go without it, and my son chose to use it. He loves his scooter, and it was definitely a good buy.

Scooter for adults too,

I am a college student and purchased this scooter because with a 220 lb weight limit,it was the only one that could hold an adult (and bookbag, laptop, etc) within my price limit. This little machine is a wonder in a time of gass prices rocketing. I read the other reviews before purchasing this past summer (2008) and was prepaired for the worst, I purchased an extra battery and charger with the scooter. When one battery is on the scooter the other is charging. I keep a charger in my bookbag and one at home at all times. This has served me well. I ride every day to school (about 20 min.) and only have to hop off and walk it on the steepest inclines, let it charge or change the battery when I reach campus and have enough charge to ride back home. This is also good for quick runs to the grocery store three blocks away and I have a basket tied below the seat to carry more than I could on foot. The battery lasts longer if you let it run out completely before charging but heavier weights and uphill travel will wear it down quicker as well, so the extra battery and spare charger were what made this worth the price.

We bought this item as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old. She loves it. It looks great, runs smoothly and quietly and has some power to it. It was simple to assembly, charge and get up and running. If there is one drawback, it is that the charges do not seem to hold very long.

I received my Razor E200S Seated Scooter and after assembly, it worked perfectely. Eventhough I bought the item for my daughter, my 12 year old son loves it better than my daughter if that is anyway possible. I purchased my son a Mongoose year before last but now after riding his sisters Razor, he's asking for a razor too. We thoroughly enjoyed this product and will probably purchase another one next Christmas.

Razor E200 Scooter Throttle defect,
By lmm (Wichita KS USA) - See all my reviews 10/28/04 Update - Just one week after posting this review, the company contacted us and they are now going to replace the scooter. They say the new scooter has the improved throttle. We have to send them the control module from ours first, but it seems we are finally going to have some satisfaction from this.

We had one problem with the scooter - the first time we charged it it would run out of power very quickley so we let it run all the way out (by letting the wheel run till it stopped completely). Charged it again for 12 hours and is fine now. My only complaint is that it must be charged a long time to ride a short while. The kids LOVE it - we got this one for the 13 and 15 year old so they wouldn't ride the Vespa looking scooter my 10 year old got for her birthday.

Purchased 2 as Christmas gifts for 12 yr old and 8 yr old. My 12 yr old hasn't been able to ride even around the block without the motor going into overload and shutting off. We click the override switch but it dies again in just a few feet. We assume that it is weight limit - but she is WELL under the 220 lb limit. Batteries were charged according to direction and it happens to her on either scooter... The 8 yr old can zip all over the place. Not much fun when only one sister can ride the scooter without it dying. My advice - if you are getting a scooter for anyone over 130 lbs then go with a bigger motor. This is too wimpy for anyone 150 lbs or more. (understand - my 12 yr old daughter is 5'7", so we will have to consider buying it like an adult size) Sadly having to return this one and repurchase one with a larger motor.

Disappointing....,

My daughter begged us for this scooter for her 12th birthday. She was so excited when she got it. She loves riding it, but she gets so frustrated because the battery never stays charged for long. After charging it, the scooter is pretty quick when she first starts riding it, but it doesn't take long before it gets really, really slow. She usually only averages about 10 minutes on it before coming into the house and plugging it in again. She loves riding it, but it needs a longer lasting battery. You definitely need a second battery so that one is charged all the time.

son enjoys - pain for parents,

The biggest disappointment was that the Christmas gift arrived with a defunct battery. Razor replaced the battery. There is a big notice on the handle bars that states that the scooter cannot be left in freezing temps. That info is nowhere to be found in the product description. It's post Christmas and the low tomorrow is 13* in NC. We have to keep the scooter, which is large, in the laundry room. The battery is not easily accessed otherwise we would just remove the battery and bring it inside. The tire stems are difficult to access to add air. We have a nice pump but have to purchase an adapter to put air in the tires. So far this product has not been worth our money however, our son has enjoyed riding it.
