This is a very well made scooter, almost worked out of the box, we just received it 4 days ago and my son is enjoying it already. The specs says it runs for 40 minutes but it can run longer than that, battery charge does not seem to take 12 hours either(until the light on the charger turns green). One thing i did not like about it is that the plastic protective cover for the chain is so close to the ground that is almost impossible to make right turns without the thing touching the floor, not really sure how this did not come up during testing stages, this is obviously a design error, other than that it just works perfect.

Wow on the battery replacement!,

We bought this for my daughter a year ago. She loved it. Now, the battery pack needs to be replaced. I called Razor and was told that a year is about what you'll get from the battery pack. Okay, fair enough...so let's just replace the battery- easy, right? YA, $50 + shipping for the battery replacement! We paid $100 for the scooter last year.
Nobody around town carries the battery for it. I even called a generic battery store and although they can replace it with their brand of battery, it is still $60+ to THAT. I'm sorry, but that's a bit steep to pay 1/2 the price of the scooter to replace the battery. Not sure what we'll do. The guy at the battery store told me they get a lot of people who buy these scooters on a garage sale for $10 only to find out that they have to spend $50 to get the thing working. C'mon Razor!

This scooter was a Christmas gift for my son. He loves it! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the short time we've had it and I will leave another review after a few months. Over all it was easy to put together, the charge last atleast 30min or more, and its fast. Made for a great gift for the price.

I purchased 4 of these for my grandchildren (ages 5 to 10) for Christmas. They were easy to assemble, good quality and a great deal of fun for all....even me!

Don't do it,

My son saved his money to buy this product. I had my reservations but he promised to wear a helmet so I allowed him to buy it. Boy, am I sorry. He had the electric scooter for only one week when my husband and I heard him screaming from the driveway. The brakes were not very responsive, but he probably was at fault, too, for taking the corner from the sidewalk to the driveway too fast. He's only 10, after all. After hitting the stone retaining wall next to our driveway, his head slammed into the handlebar and he busted out both of his permanent teeth. The dentist said he had never seen teeth shatter the way these did. He's too young for dental implants and the root is probably too compromised to put a crown in, so there's no good fix. He'll be dealing with temporary fixes, a gaping hole and then surgery for years to come. I know accidents happen, and they're only teeth, but I keep thinking this: What if he had lost control and gone into traffic? It could have been so much worse. I feel this product is unstable and that kids my son's age are too young to operate them. If you love your child, please reconsider buying this.
