5.0 out of 5 stars Rough Boys - No Problem!
I have two boys ages 5 & 6. We bought two of these for Christmas this past year and we dearly love them. They have been slid for what seems like miles, driven off curbs, wrecked viciously, and even flipped after a nasty crash but our boys have not been hurt in any way and the Screamers have risen to the challenge beautifully. We also purchased the Schwinn Siren and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Spoilt by rear wheels
The Scream Machine is well built, rides well, has very good brakes and was easy to assemble, it stops short of being a 5 star product by indifferent looking, noisy hard plastic rear wheels; a set of good rubber rear wheels would be a vast improvement. In fact I substituted the rear wheels with a pair of large diameter (7 inch) lawnmower wheels - easily done as the axle...

They have been slid for what seems like miles, driven off curbs, wrecked viciously, and even flipped after a nasty crash but our boys have not been hurt in any way and the Screamers have risen to the challenge beautifully. We also purchased the Schwinn Siren and Motor sounder that attaches to the handle bars and you can hear our boys coming before you can see them. I would recommend these for any parent with rough little boys or girls.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful holiday gift for girls and boys alike!, November 17, 2002

We purchased the Razor Scream Machine for our daughter's 5th birthday (she had "test driven" one in Toys R Us and fell in love with it instantly). It comes with directions for assembly; however, in the interest of time (her birthday was the next day) and our sanity we had it assembled at the local bike shop for a nominal fee--well worth the price, especially now that the Scream Machine is on sale for [$$$] (we paid [$$$] a few months back). The bike is absolutely beautiful, extremely sturdy, rides and handles curves like a dream and stops on a dime. Our daughter absolutely loves it. Even our older daughter who is 11 enjoys going for a spin from time to time. The Scream Machine's seat is adjustable so children of different ages and sizes will have no trouble whatsoever riding it. At first we were concerned about the rear wheels (which are plastic), but they've given us no trouble whatsoever and are holding up wonderfully. This would be a teriffic and much-loved gift for the holiday season--especially at this new great price! Buy one today!

3.0 out of 5 stars Spoilt by rear wheels, January 6, 2003

The Scream Machine is well built, rides well, has very good brakes and was easy to assemble, it stops short of being a 5 star product by indifferent looking, noisy hard plastic rear wheels; a set of good rubber rear wheels would be a vast improvement. In fact I substituted the rear wheels with a pair of large diameter (7 inch) lawnmower wheels - easily done as the axle size is an exact fit so the only other addition required is a couple of spacers - with that alteration it is smoother, faster and quieter yet still well within the capacity of the existing front brake.

4.0 out of 5 stars Replacement Parts, July 9, 2004

We are having a great deal of trouble with Razor. They have an affiliate company who handles shipping and company questions. My son's replacement rear tires are on back order, with no indication on when delivery will take place. I think I'm about ready to take him to Toys R Us to get a "Green Machine", since this company doesn't seem to be bothered with keeping 6 year old children hostage to their apparant problem with inventory.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get a Green Machine, August 1, 2004
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars

We got this for my son's 6th birthday, by the time he is 7 he will be too big for it. He is tall for his age, in the 95th percentile, so if your child is on the petite side it may be o.k. He has just been riding it about 15 minuites and a pedal broke, I'm not too heartbroken, we will take it back and get him something he can ride on longer. His sister got a green machine for her birthday, there is no comparison. I feel bad for him and will not replace this, just return it and get something better.

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!!, May 11, 2005

I dont understand some of these reveiws.. I am 28 years old and 2 of my friends and myself bought the scream machine for nothing but stupidity.. I have done 34MPH on these things, half pipes, ramps - everything against the mfg. warrenty - and It is lasting!! Dont believe me? goto www.brazenvideo.com - click on videos - watch the "Freestyle Big Wheel" video.. It shows how tuff these things are!

My one complaint is tires are to thin and go really fast depending on how your child will ride this...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pinches Fingers, December 29, 2003

We bought this toy for our 5 year old son. He is very tall so the seat is perfect at the furthest setting. The 2 problems that we have had are 1) the back wheels are already torn up after only riding around the block on sidewalks twice and 2) He has already twice turned around to tell me something and ran over his hand with the back wheel which left pretty big cuts on his fingers. He loves riding this but it is one problem that deserves mention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tons of Fun -- But Not Built to Last, December 26, 2003

We purchased this product for our 8 year old daughter for Christmas -- she had seen it in a catalog and was the one gift she definitely wanted from Santa. She rode it on christmas day and the day after. By the afternoon of the 26th, the rear wheels had busted. We have purchased razor products in the past and have been extremely pleased. However, I am definitely disappointed that this product has not held up and am not sure if Razor is going to replace the wheels for free or not. If not, we will have to purchase for an additional cost of $25.00. It isn't much, but when you spend this much on a toy, you expect it to last much longer.

This Toy will teach you how to ride a bicycle. If you already know how it is great fun for kids. Your children will love this toy. They will play with it every day because that is what it is made for. This toy is absolutely rugged.

We purchased the razor scream machine for christmas. We adjusted the seat to the closest hole and my 5 year old son still can't reach. He is the same size as most of the other children in his age group. I know he'd love it if he could reach. So I have been trying to locate the scream machine jr.. He just turned 5, so maybe in a few months he'll beable to reach. We were all disappointed he couldn't ride it.
