Review of "Re-Alliance", by the Bluegrass Alliance, November 18, 2001
This review is from: Re-Alliance (Audio CD)
This CD is chock full of masterful performances
by Barry Palmer, one of the best banjo pickers
alive, Chuck Nation, a consumate fiddler, and
Tom Hicks, superb on mandolin. The vocal harmonies
are smooth. The selection of songs is not typical
bluegrass fare, in keeping with a long tradition
of this band. The lead vocals by bass player
LaRita Buchanan are clear as the North Georgia
mountain air. The track "Friend of the Devil"
is especially fine....the fiddle & banjo breaks are simply not to be believed!
Band leader John Martin does a superb job on lead vocals.
If you are buying
one Blugrass CD this year, make it this one.
