Well the heaviest band are back again. I never get bored w/their low end fuzzy bass, it's awesome. The band consistently puts out brutal music, no ballads here. I would say this is probably the best guitar sound they have achieved, heavier than previous releases, something I did not think could happen. Songs like Unseen Darkness are exceptional because of the sheer heaviness and it's slow, before erupting, into the usual Mortician blast. I always will love their brutality, but songs like the above mentioned just stand out more because they don't sound like the rest of the songs. I only wish they did more songs like this. My favorite parts are the slower heavier parts and they never put enough of them in. However the over the top grind is still great to listen to, and that I still don't get bored with, just wish they would mix things up a little more. Bring songs back, like the Slaughterhouse songs, brutal heaviness chugging along at a mid tempo, or songs like Ghost House that were slower but beyond heavy. Anyway if you like Mortician you will still like this release, they're as brutal as ever.

Being a fan of this band for quite a while, i kne just what to expect and thats exectly what i got and was very pleased with my choise. It seems doe, the songs are more brutal and faster and that made me very happy. Strictly for morticians fans and horro movie fanatics. Get mortician albums specialy their latest re-animated flesh...

What did you expect from the band "Mortician"? If you've ever heard any of their stuff and liked it enough to click this link to find out what they've done recently, well, you deserve to have that $20 taken from you. Why? Because they haven't done anything new recently. In fact, the only difference between this disc and any of their others (they're all interchangeable, and without the album art, I dare you try try and identify one over the other) is that the more recent albums sound better. The music isn't better, I just mean that it doesn't sound like it was recorded in someone's bathroom. Everything else has stayed the same. They use overlong clips from horror movies, clips that run longer than the songs themselves sometimes. The music is repetitive and everything is downtuned and pitchshifted so that it the only thing you hear that isn't sub-aural is the tinny snare drum and cymbols. The guitars are the kind of very low fuzzy distorted buzz that makes me personally giggle uncontrollably when I'm playing my own guitar. However the band doesn't really do much of anything with them. There aren't even any riffs here, just basic power-chord chugging. In a way, this is a good example of how to use your downtuned guitar as a rhythm and percussion instrument. The vocals aren't just growled, they're pitchshifted so low that they're barely there at all. I thought my stomach was grumbling before I realized those were words in my headphones. Giving a negative or positive review to an album like this is pointless, though. Anyone who doesn't like death metal would never click the link, and anyone who does like Mortician is probaby very stubborn and particular in their convictions and will buy it anyway. Lets just say this, though: if you have one album by them already, then don't bother. One is enough, they're all the same. But if you don't have one, it might as well be this one. Me? I just get giddy about horror movies, and this band obviously shares that particular fetish. It's fun trying to guess which movies the obscure clips are taken from. Like trivia. Only one that will probably lose you friends instead of gather them. :)

Mortician is BRUTAL, that's all you need to know. They are BRUTAL which means they have brutally fast programmed drum machine, over the top guttural vocals/gorey lyrics, and they are overall just one of the fastest bands out there, but they have sick breakdowns too. Once again, the samples they choose are always the best, bringing back great memories of some of the best movies of all time. Well to end this review, you are probably not gonna buy this CD anyways because you're a complete loser, so go back to whatever you WERE listening to and pretend that it's brutal. For everyone else, pick this up and stay BRUTAL.

This band is one of my favorites... They will always sound this way no matter what people say and they will never change. Mortician's "re-animated dead flesh" is without a doubt brutal and it is not for emo gay kids or nu-metal posers. Buy it and keep the underground alive.

Man...i've tried and tried...but Mortician sucks...I mean Musically they are extremely talented, the samples kick ass, but the vocals are terrible and every song sounds the same...do yourself a favor and pick up a Gorgoroth album, Berzerker, or even some Impaled Nazarene...but put the Mortician album down..cuz the only thing you will get is this feeling that you want your money back...
