I got such a window into your experiences from this book. One thing you did that I've never read before in health-related memoir is that you made a tapestry of multiple parts of your life. Often a memoir about a traumatic incident or an illness leaves out too many other parts of the person's life. By weaving together all the history and exploration of art therapy and art throughout the book, you made sure that the reader would never get stuck viewing you as only a patient. I love that. You also constantly assert your agency throughout the book in a million ways. TBI stories so often lack a discussion of personal agency. We meed more of that. I found it really engaging to read.
